Canadian outdoor strain/climate guide... please share your info

As a Canadian outdoor veteran I know the trials and tribulations we go through yearly to get our crops to harvest. With that being said, I am always open to new ideas and strains that can handle the conditions we face above the 49th parallel. I will chime in with some of my own favorite tricks and strains but would love to hear some fellow Canucks share their stories of success in the great white north.

ive had to stop growing outdoors we have 6 floods this year. ruined pretty much my entire fucking crop all 22 plants. Granted, they were all regs so i only ended up with a few females but lost most of those females anyways to the flood

I know this guy who has been growing outdoors in bc for over 20 years. Last year was one of the best summers ever. lots and lots of sunlight! he had 8 by 8 foot plants. If he planted in june he could have easily had 10+ footers

What strains are popular in Ontario for outdoors, given you have a good season? I have never had a problem with floods in my area of B.C... If anything it's too dry here and makes watering guerilla patches a lot of flippin work!
i like herjiana and darkstar they did well this season ,

oh yeah i was reading about darkstar in high times it looks killer. I have smoked a lot of rockstar in bc, grown in bc and it is some of the best bud i have ever smoked.

stay away from the dutch seed companies when looking for outdoor varieties for short season, unless autos. i've had more trials than tribulation with anything dutch for short season outdoor.
dr.greenthumb is quite expensive (realy expensive!) but he has many strains for outdoor that work well, produce nicely and have quality product in the end as well. i have tried a few iranian Xs and have had nice sucessfull seasons. iranian X chemdog was great! next generation has a few that have worked well also. give either of them a look at or just most about any canadian company has some tailored for outdoor conditions in short season.

im on about 32 way south of you just thought i put my 2 cents in here i did sour jefe by sin city seeds last year it was done end of august first to second week in september we had alot of rain and it fought off mold pretty bad ass did bunch more but that was quickest to be done

The okanagan valley where im from is probably the best all around climate in Canada. The last 3 season's I have been able to keep plants in the ground until around the 20th of October. I have found im able to pull off some of the later kush varieties and the cooler temps bring out some amazing colors come harvest. We get next to no rain during the the fall so mold is not an issue. I don't do many late flowering plants because I know my luck could change with the good weather in Oct.
