my brothers and I have trailers there....and have for the last 30 years....but have never built on it
my kids are at the age and are interested in putting up small cottages or cabins there for their personal use...
This area is the last sort of undiscovered...cottage area...within that distance of 2.5 hours of TO
there have been people cottaging there for the last 75 - 80 years though...
just was less developed of an area....and is south of Algonquin....and north of Kingston

Land O lakes is just that,,,,,the folds and faults of the frontenac axis....crunched up into ridges of metamorphic rock..and lakes in between the folds.....everywhere

the plan was to do something building wise ... for retirement ...in log ... .but that was before...had an accident and then got
sick...now I'm trying to finish another project I was working on when I broke my neck....once its done...then I am considering what I will do at the property....then...
Anyhow....the trees were cut down just this winter....due to a hydro easement....on the property...and hydro...did all the work...and left the trees for me just stacked....and they are approx 70 footers...at about 16 to 18" across average...and my brother tells me they took down about 30 or 40 of them....all white and red pine...and a few hemlock

Wow
Sorry about the health problems.
Nice to know you have a huge project to look forward to, to keep motivared i suppose.
You should be able to make a nice home with all those logs

Im glad im a dreamer too.
Yesturday was a depressed thought day so
Im going to keep being creative.
I will gladly be the dreamer that wants to help people relax
excellent.....
I used to be a dreamer too at one time....and was planning on doing a golf mecca...of 14 connected golf courses....called
Land -O-Links
with a 75 to 100 room hotel at the end/beginning of each course....so you could get a golfers dream package...
with up to 14 days/nights..of golf vacation...with decent quality hotels and dining....
so basically you would drop your car at the first course....and pick it up 14 days later at the last course....
The courses would have has a huge variety... of link designs....to cover all different kinds of golf course config's

Sounds like a golfers heaven lol

Ive always been too creative for my own good.
I have way more ideas than time to build or try them all.
Ive been called every name in the book but im not ashamed to be creative or think outside the box because someone else doesnt understand.

thanks torontoke...ya the physical stuff is kinda the least of my worries...I can still move...around....which is good considering...
That was originally the plan... but with hydro doing this line clearing thru a small area..of planted trees from a long time ago...they have sorta pushed my hand... since I don't want to leave that nice pine go to waste....or get the carpenter ants into it....
I am hoping my son-inlaw (big strapping lad) will take an interest in the property.....and maybe build something for my daughter....

Maybe he needs a father in laws push in the right direction lol

Ive been depressed for a long time and it makes u think about legacy and such thats part of why i want to build this resort is to leave my kids and the people that enjoy and get use out it somewhere to go relax.

the area's I have been mentioning does have a fair number of resorts....I would say from the 50's and 60's....as far as age...goes...the area's is mostly known for excellent boating and fishing opportunities...
so I'm positive you could find something already somewhat established

I too have fought bouts of depression due to going under medicated...or not medicated at all for long periods of time....
pain can be very wearing on you mentally as well as physically....as you know I'm sure....
so if finding something to focus on...can be the difference between wanting to be alive and not...
I am currently finishing my dream house...(nightmare...lol) right now....everyone one around here including most of my neighbors are quite understanding(except one)...about the fact I want to be able to do this project to completion by myself...I have designed and worked on countless houses for others in Ontario.....working as a eng. consultant...and solving many architects and other eng.'s problems...
then I start my own project....only to have my physical world come crashing down on me...so to speak...
and my wife has to be the most understanding person on the planet....for putting up with this house being under construction for the last 9 years.....and I still probably have a couple more to go.....unless I start to hire out the labor...

Ive probably looked at ads for places around where ur talking lol
Ive been at this for awhile but back when i did a business plan and everything it was strictly an eco resort for max profits but as my situation changed and i started to become more and more compassionate towards other people my priorities have changed.
I dont want a regular resort for rich college kids to get drunk and destroy.

once we put this... LP... (made up governmental ... crisis) to bed....along with the court case.... it would be nice to put
some faces to the names... if that can be worked out...
and maybe a 3 way skype call to the east /west coasts and central canada...on a large screen at each venue....
