I'm with hippy until LPs bring it down to 3$ a gram, if uruguay can be at 1$ I don't feel we need to be at 10$
Uruguay just postponed everything by at least a year because they aren't even close to being ready. Anyone can say they can produce for $1/gram while still adhering to strict QA and tracking requirements, actually being able to do it is an entirely different story. I'll believe it when I see it.

But where's the tax revenue at $1 per gram? $1 per gram might work if it was 100% legal but then no way would it be $1 as the the gov and provinces would add tax to it. Look at the excise taxes on cigarettes now, they are going to want their money and they will tax the shit out of it to get it.

Tax revenue isn't the main goal over there, it's undercutting and eliminating the black market and drug trafficking that have become issues for Uruguay.

So it's legal in Uruguay but there is still a black market? That doesn't make sense.
It's only legal to buy government weed, or to produce a limited amount for yourself. There is no government weed yet, and I don't think it's actually legal there yet either.....not until the program is fully ready I think?

They are not selling it yet but it is to be sold for 1$ a gram when the government starts selling it. The 1$ a gram is to undermind the black market. Even when having conflict with law your not subject to criminal charges only fines from 2$ to 87$.

A whole lot of people supporting the prices and LPs yet no reasons as to why. Please inform me why its not acceptable to produce your own medication for pennies on the ounce or have a DG grow it for you?

Who is saying these aren't acceptable options? Certainly not me. As far as DG's go, unfortunately a few "industrious" ones ruined it for everyone. I for one think having choices is a good thing......some people prefer to buy from LP's for a variety of reasons. Who are you to say what works best for someone else? It's about choices and options and is a matter of opinion, no one is forcing anyone to buy LP medicine that doesn't want to. For every vocal hater on here, there are 10 happy patients on producers own sites, even Tweed's (gasp!). Lots of patients here with strong opinions, but also a lot elsewhere that don't necessarily feel the same way or as strongly. The vocal internet-using patients only account for an extremely small % of the Canadian MMJ community, and the general consensus on here does not necessarily indicate the consensus out in the real world.

In a perfect world, I hope we will see any and all options for sourcing MMJ: rights for personal cultivation (for all), CC's, LP's (big, small and NFP's), and eventually a thriving recreational market as well.

One thing that I find interesting is that no patients are criticizing the barrage of "CC's" (I use that term very loosely in reference to many of these new outfits) that have been popping up and are charging the same prices as LP's without all of the overhead that LP's experience. LP's are all evil, but buying bulk BC bud at $1000/lb and selling it for $8+/gram to the sick under the guise of a 'compassion club' isn't? Doesn't seem so compassionate to me......

Seems to me that there is a double standard, that's all.

Still got your back up a bit I see. Well Devil any consumer enjoys choice. CC's are very much like stores where people can see and handle the product a bit to see if they may want to buy it. I like the CC model because it's basically a store. Maybe some day these CC's could buy from LP's and show that stock. I'm cool with that as long as the patient is still allowed to grow if they want or can. Or have a friend or relative maybe do the growing.
I think I like the Colorado model..plenty of choice in prices and selection with the option to produce yourself. Anyone doesn't agree with this is obviously trying to procure a good deal for their own greedy reason and they will get my rath as much as I'm able.
A free model system usually weeds out the poor products and businesses so IMO freedom is thew ay to go. for instance if your a store selling for 12 agram your next store may undercut you and offer a better deal. This is always the best system for the consumer or patient.
As far as I'm concerned it pure fuckin WAR the moment anyone tries to control or monopolize it's access.
Devil, you grow, you should be on board with that. It's called freedom and don't mess with mine or anyone elses. Aren't we really on the same side here. I think we are.
Under my idea of okay the LP's could then be like any other business offering goods to sell. But if they want to be the only access...forget it then ...anarchy.

Not to mention that these really large LP seem to be helping to stop you small guys from becoming LP's. so aren't they fucking you too? More bigger rules that you little guys will never over come. Seems to me your getting screwed even worse that some poor sick guy who now is having trouble feeling better for a reason price he can afford.
I notice the LP dreamer's and wanna be's never seem to see anything wrong with the high prices these LP's are offering...what with that by the way?

Don't have my back up at all, just presenting all sides to the argument. It isn't all innocent angels on one side and all greedy devils on the other. Just trying to help you see that everything isn't always in black and white my man :)

What are you talking about? choices and options? what options? Yes patients are forced to purchase from LPs, it is the only legal options unless you fall under the injunction and can grow your own. Choices within LPs yes, choices for reasonable access, not so much. Who am i to say what works best for someone else? i dont care about SOMEone, i care what works for EVERYone. I dont feel any marijuana sold by any avenue needs to be upwards of 10$ a gram, thats something everyone can agree on unless they directly gain from it. Your most truthful but yet contridicting statement was your last, there should be access to all that need either they grow there own or may not be able to but have a AFFORDABLE option.
