Can too much bennies burn your pants?

So I have a fellow gardener friend who thinks he burned his plants by using too many beneficials. He used about 4 times the amount the label states. The product is Oregonism XL. I have used the same product for years but not 4 times the amount listed. So is my friend out of his mind? I think he had to do something else to his garden. I saw it with my own eyes and it looks like nute burn or a lock out of some sort, but I have a hard time believing that bennies burned his crop. Anyone else have any experience with this????

well it does have soluble kelp in it. Too much of anything soluble can cause problems.
Confusing application rates too.
Reason # 231 why I don't bother with bottled shit.
I sorta have a hard time understanding how they keep the microbes alive in a sealed anerobic environment (the bottle)...

This is just a guess, but I think you would have to go to great lengths to over dose with this product. Like how much is four times the rate, and in what size pots, what size plants?

This product can create pretty drastic ph swings... with my experience using this at 4X dose, your gonna have bubbles going everywhere.

Thry might have changed formulas as I haven't used this product in 8 years, but its some straight microbial bubble bath

That is exactly what I was thinking. The plants are in 5 gal pots and are about 30-35'' tall. About 2 weeks from flip.
