Canabis specific nutes? I'm a newb but are nutes just that, nutes? Sure I guess pot may have different needs than other plants, (dont think so myself) but I had a pot plant grow out of my carpet in university (moisture issues lol), just sayin lol. Forgive my ignorance but for years I just used what ever was on sale at the local hardware store and grew some really nice plants (lots!). Also when I first started in hydro I spent like a gazillion dollars on canna specific nutes (pictures of unicorns on the bottle I believe lol) only to find my generic cheap stuff did as good or better.

That was always a mystery to me because everyone says....
There's your problem, your resource. Stay away from cannabis forums, get your nose into a bonafide gardening forum and books. An exception would be at the Riddle3m site where seasoned growers will save you a lot of heartache. No bullshit over there. By invitation only.

If something seems popular at RIU, WATCH OUT.

Yes, plants need all the 12 essential elements from start to finish. Their size, mass and vigor dictates the amount and frequency at any given point in time.

Plant is stunted. Shit can it. Most times it just doesn't recover like it should.

Oh, and while you're at it, shit can the "cannabis specific" foods and go with quality foods like Peters, Schultz, Dyna-Gro, etc. Dyna-Gro for water culture, soil-less.

Simply not true. Plants always want the right amount of nutrients.

If it's soil, the soil should be built rich in nutrients from the start. If it's hydroponics, you should start feeding at a conservative, but not too low, vegging ppm right off the bat. Between 1.0 and 1.4EC is safe.

There is never a time when growing plants where starving them is a good idea.
If my seedlings seem to be doing ok now at .5-6 ec would I be wise to raise the levels or just leave them for a week (next res change)?

-next time you put your seeds into rockwool, be sure to pH calibrate the rockwool cube in a solution of 5.5 water before use
Are you certain that this problem is caused by light burn? Try:
-raising the light by about a foot
-switch spectrum from hps to a more veg.-efficient mH.

I started them off in rapid rooters and thats when they began to yellow. So i know its not the rockwool. Although I did ph it. And some said it's probably overwatering which could be true since I was watering the seedlings twice a day. The reason why i thought it was light burn is because i had a 6 bulb t5 about 8 inches away from newly sprouted seedlings. I have gotten a lot of good information from you guys. The problem is fixed now

Im glad you got the problem resolved; the reason I asked if your sure its light burn is that, t5's typically don't emit enough heat to damage the plant at 8 in.

I think over watering explains much for me as well. I use T5's and keep it quite close but pump was on too much I think for jiffy pods.
