Well I hope this guy wins as I think the Govt is full of itself and I feel like a child in a classroom as I try and live my life. And really, if it were legal; what would change?
I would still smoke and so would you. It is not like all of a sudden there is going to be a Pot hysteria. Look at the Cannabis Expo's with Medical areas to smoke. No violence no reports nothing business as usual. I know I am preaching to the choir here but for those of you looking in out of curiosity or for whatever reason. 70% of Americans either do not care if it is or consume or have consumed. That means that the other 30% probably law enforcement or left overs from Anslingre's era do not and wont. So have a drink and forget about it. Oh and enjoy the tax revenues.

freedom of religion should legalize cannabis also, for christians, jesus smoked and basically preached that we should also smoke if we please, and the bible even predicts the prohibition of cannabis..Growing and smoking cannabis in these times he would relate it to defying Caesar.

The herb is given to us by god ..it is our god given right by law
God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

Jesus said to keep church and state apart. "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's and unto God the things which be God's." (Luke 20:25) As we have seen, it was God, not government, who gave man the herbs to use. And it was government that put Jesus to death.

It was God who created cannabis hemp and told mankind to use "every green herb" on Earth. The Bible speaks of mercy, healing and a persecution of God's children. They persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. (Psalms 119:86) Prisons and drug wars do not save souls. The Lord… hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)

I feel the same way. I believe in Ayurveda, I went through Chemo with Western Medicine an realized about 6 months after they almost killed me that these guys were just giving me what a pharmaceutical company put on the market with erroneous results. I mean we can all do tests till the answer we want comes about. I do not believe in Santa or Satan, but I do believe in the power to heal. I guess that makes me a Witch and if it were 1825 I would be burned alive by some Good Christians doing Gods work. Funny how Politicians decide what is a religion and how you can practice it. I guess that is why they are in the Middle East too? Telling people how to live... I like Ron Paul for that, he states that the Government does not know how to live or run your life and should not have a right to say how too.

Yes, The Bible says that God created hemp for people to use "as meat," (ie, to consume), that its seed oil is to be used as an ointment, and that cannabis is "to be received with thanks-giving of them which believe and know the truth." Paul(not ron paul) also warned that some people would "speak lies in hypocrisy" and prohibit us from using it.It also says that we "shall not bear false witness" about people who use cannabis, nor judge them because that judgement is reserved to the Lord. The Lord hates those who speak lies and sow discord among brethern. For those people harrassed and imprisoned for using cannabis rightfuly, Jesus offers these words of comfort, "Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness's sake: For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."

So at least in the words of Thomas Jefferson cannabis is legal, but that doesn't matter anymore, it really should though :)

According to the philosophy of so many great heroes the herb is good for us...and morally right.

Perhaps thats the deception, they have tought us to think that herbs are morally wrong. Its just not true. :)

Watching it with a very keen eye. Kinda a lot of eggs to put in one basket. Or at least very valuable eggs.

Wait, so because he grew his own food, and no longer had to purchase wheat from another person, they deemed it illegal and he had to destroy it and pay a fine!?!

They took away his ability to produce food for himself!?! WTF?

Please tell me I understood this wrong.

That's how i read it too. Makes me wonder how much wheat we are talking about though. If you raise enough to make a decent profit on, how could one family consume all that? That's the part i got hung up on. Well, that and the government telling him what hew can or must do on his own land.

I at first thought he was trying to be sly and circumvent the law by declaring the wheat for personal use only. But then the government straight up went and declared all wheat over the allotment forbidden and destructible. :|

Yup, that's the Dept of Agriculture. They pay farmers to NOT grow things or pay them to "plow under" their crops. All in an attempt to regulate the market.
I wonder if there is anybody in Haiti or Somalia that might have been able to put that wheat to good use?
