Can someone look over the components for my grow set up?

next up you need to see what your humidity is running, and when you ad plants and water and all your hydro stuff your humidity will go up,,, then you need to check your temp and humidity against a vapor pressure chart to see where you land on the graph

...oh crap - THAT’s not something I have even seen mentioned yet! Care to educate a newb?
humidity effects a great many things,, needs to be higher in veg,, and lower in flower, if humidity is too high in flower you run the risk of powdery mildew and bud rot,, but there is a condition called vapor pressure,, which causes "tacoing" of leaves a curling condition where the plants are struggling to transpire,,, its often asked about in threads where people need help,, powdery mildew and bud rot will destroy whole crops

sorry to thread jack but tim fox do you happen to have a link or picture of the vapor pressure chart youre referencing, ive had some taco leaves on several plants recently but they are otherwise completely healthy and despite my near-decade of growing this is the first ive heard of vapor pressure being the cause :oops:

ive tried searching for the chart myself and theres plenty vapor pressure charts out there i just cant find one that cross references both temp and humidity, only seen temp charts so far

also goodjob on the setup OP, youre well on your way :) and welcome to riu!

found the chart. i understand this shows optimal temp/humidity ratios but my numbers stay within the orange or white 99% of the time, i do draw intake from an outdoor source so if its a heavy humidity day outdoors my tent RH will spike too but thats not a regular occurance, i dont quite understand how this vapor pressure effect causes the taco'ing still..

Thanks for the chart - that bad boy is getting printed and laminated!!! And yes, I’d like to know not only what causes the taco’ing of the leaves but how to prevent it

That is the chart if you have taco/canoe leaves and your unable to adjust your humidity you can increase airflow in the tent ( not your exhaust) but inside airflow and raise the light or dim the light till the plant gets stronger

Manyof us do prevent ative spray with sodium bicarbonate called green cure , it's not a chemical it's common as baking soda , do this during veg to change the pH on the leaves and this makes it so powdery mildew cannot grow thus negating the effect of high humidity , this jump start s you into flower with a much higher chance of not getting bud rot or PM

Oooh!!! Green cure! Where do I get this magical solution if needed ... Amazon?

i mean ordinary baking sodo works,, its called sodium bicarb,,, green cure has what brewers use in beer making called sodium bicarbonate,, both work, but the sodium bicarbonate works better still, its all thats in green cure,, and yes amazon is a great place to get it,
prventative type sprays are a wonderful way to do things,, instead of trying to solve problems after they happen

whats interesting is some strains are more effected by vapor pressure,, for me the Oregon Diesel , and the Sour Diesels were both taco twisters, so much so i even pulled the oregon diesel on that grow, so i could crank up the light on the other 3 i had at the time

wow so its probably just genetics, oddly enough the plants that are having this issue are sour diesels and my recent NL and WW strains didnt have this issue while under the same conditions. thx for the read tim fox, i love how no matter how long ive been at this i always have something new to learn

ThatSpudGuy is right. You can use everything you have and get some herb you grew yourself. Bigger filters are not better in the small tent. I have a monster 4 inch filter in there now (22 inches long and almost as big around as my 6 inch cheapo). I was tempted to get the smaller cans but we will see how it goes. I am growing a single plant in the tent so i can figure out how to work around it and fill the tent. I will measure tonight as I have to build a scrog net out of 3 old hockey sticks. It seems more Canadian that way. Get your beans popped and start growing. Ask questions when you need to and you will get answers that can help. :)
