You never need to supplement silica...
I know the running argument with Silica, and I chose to still use Silica. You are correct, you do not need to, but it has more than 1 reason for use.
I can use it as a ph up, to keep systems ph stable, and reduces harsh chemicals such as ph adjusters from ever entering my plants. I discontinue use of Si in flower, as well as the calimag.

Ive used distilled, it works, but damn who want to buy 20- 1 gal jugs or do you get it in bulk somehow? Krogers has self watering machine for $4 you can get 10 gal. I did that for 6 months till i said, hell with that and just bought an ro filter for 100, and it been doing its thing for a couple yr now..
Yeah i bought a 6 stage filter with ro/di instead of lugging 5 gallon jugs around. Now a day's I'm sure the neighbors wonder why I drag the hose in and out of my room a couple times a month. It's truly a lazy mans gig for me any more. The wife hated the 3-1 waste of the ro any way

Fair enough. And in all truths I think the megacrop I use has silica in it so I'm probably calling the kettle black here

Hang on I'll see if I can find it otherwise it'll have to wait til o get home. I have the website on the fridge magnet to get filters from. It was some relatively cheap aquarium 80gpd unit

Is that a fan right in the middle of the canopy? What is your thoughts on that?
well... just recently my plants have out grown that fan on the ground, i have another fan that is hitting the plants tops. so im just using that fan on the ground as an air mover through the tent, it oscillates. if you guys have a better idea for fans in such a small space please let me know. i would love to change it :)

Right.. Funny thing is, I got a 4x4 tent upstairs, just usually pheno hunting in it, but I still use my 5 gal jugs from back then to lug water around the house. I got a dtwe system upstairs. A 4x4 flood table for vegging, and 24 buckets in a 12x12 room. I just chopped and am redoing the room.. This the last year i plan to run more than 1 light. Its grandpa time lol.. I got T-ball practice coming up lol..

Well here is the thing, there is such thing as wind damage and plants dont need beat to death. Yes a gentle breeze that is here and there, is fina and actually helps build stronger stems. But direct air flow like that will stress the plant and remember we trying to move this girl along. We got deadlines! Lol dont mind me I like to put a little chicken soup for the soul in my posts..

Another thing to remember here, is that wind builds stronger stems but you are scrogging, and you need to be able to weave and move then stems around, and well you see your hurting yourself in that regard.

So here is how we break it down. Do you have an extraction fan at the top? What is your light, hood? and what temps are you running? not what you wish you were running, but the real numbers. Also if you turn the fans off , minus an extraction fan, does the temps rise?

I will be glad to more than help you, if you want.

okay, 2x3x5 tent, 4inch inline with carbon filter, exhausting through 6 inch cool tube, 400w hps. temps during light cycle, 74-77, during night, 68-73. also, the fan at the bottom is oscillating and i have it on the lowest setting.

Ok pull that fan out your canopy then.. Its doing no good. You dont need much air flow right now. As long as you are removing the heat that is what matters. And just keep tucking untill you got 3/4 screen filled.. Honestly that tent is pretty small for dwc buckets. So you have to flip early and keep them small. And strsaighten the net out, that will have my disorders going nutz lol... What strain are you running and how old are they?
