Can I dim the 480h-c2100a?

On the Web page I bought my 2 drivers from it says the drivers are "with dimming"

When they turned up, there is just a rubber bung where I was expecting a nob to turn to dim them.

What the deal with that. How do I dim them?

That is the A version, and just how it works. They are meant for fine tuning and then leaving alone, more than actual constant dimming and control. But some people take that "can be" dimmed, as a fully/constantly dimmable options. To the eye of the beholder I guess.
The "B" version of the same driver, allows for 3 ways of dimming, and a standard turn knob(a potentiometer) is the easiest/cheapest way to dim them and what it sounds like you were expecting.

To dim the A version, you have to pry the little rubber stopper off/out(it's just a plug, so nothing gets in there) and stick a small phillips head down the hole and you can adjust. If there are 2 hole/plugs...use "Io" to adjust, not "Vo"

Nice one bud. So yeah, with a mag lite I can see there is a tiny screw in there. And if I read the manual correctly it WILL dim to 1050ma (see attached screen shot) although I get your point it's not the easiest, I can imagine ramping up the current after veg.

Another question for you gg, as I know you d'man and you know your shit.

I was planning on powering 3 hlg288 qb boards. Can I add a vero 29 on the end of the series without problems?

Thanks mayn

Ya, that is cool to do.
The driver is going to send 2100ma down the line no matter what is in series as long as it has enough volts to push through. B vero sounds better IMO if running 2100ma, than a C. But should have the room for either. I'm a fan of giving a little head room on the driver if possible these days.

I have 2 5000k se's and 6 3500k gen 7s on the way. Although after turning on my triple qb set up for the 1st time and burning my retinas... I don't think I need them... Holy shit those things are bright s hell.

Do you think 6 qb's (2x3 boards) could do a 240 x 120 cm tent? Or old you add the 6 veros in too?

6 boards will be close... The Veros wouldn’t be a bad idea for that super Photon output after week 1 of flower. I’d add them.

@Greengenes707 you don’t happen to have any idea off the top of your head why my 1/10 hp eco plus water chiller would be screwing with me and NEVER shutting off the compressor and fan even once it hits the set temp, causing it to chill and chill... and chill...would ya? i tested thermistor probe, relays, and relay coils on the control board, and all is working.

You mean close as in not enough? I was thinking maybe the 2 rows of qbs at one end and the 6 vero at the other with potential space for a dehumidifier when I need it. It's my 1st round so will be running lots of variety in hint of a good mom

I would definitely add the Vero's into the mix. The 'A' version dims from 50%-100% so you have no reason to worry about having too much power. Get a precision screwdriver to adjust the dimming. 480W in a 4'x4' is definitely not overkill.

So it's 960w in total.

In my head it was going to be awkward coz I was thinking it would be a 3x qb bar rubbing down the middle and a vero opposite, and 3 qbs opposite 1 vero 29 doesn't make sense.

Thinking about it more it would be the pair of 3x qbs in parallel next to one another and the 2 Vero's on the end.

Question is... What current would be good for both qb's and the vero 29? Something like 1750 ma?
