Nope. Not unless the CFL is specifically designed to be a "dimmer compatible" CFL. Regular CFL's won't work properly with dimmer switches. You can try, but most likely just be wasting your money.

If your CFL's can't be dimmed then they are like 4 or 5 years old...only thing with them is you have to use a mechanical timer and not a digital timer .

Some CFLs are dimmer compatible, some are not. Using a dimmer on an incompatible bulb is risking a fire.
