Guys I really need your help I have 10 day seedlings that are yellowing at the tips and curling up. This is my 5th grow and suprising never had this problem starting seedlings.. I am not using any nutrients whatsoever. The temp was around 85, humidity at 55%. Lights were t5 ho 4 ft 6 bulb about 8 inches away. ( this light does get hot contrary to popular belief, you cannot rest your hand on the bulbs or you will get burned) I also watered them twice a day since sprouting. I strongly believe this light has been burning my plant. Since then I've moved it to a 600 hps turned down to 50% about 3 feet away. The new growth is coming on very slow. Please guys give me some advice. Will she pull through and continue to grow. Or will it stay stunted.

That's a lot of light and heat for babies. I start under t5 also but a good 14-16" above them with lots of ventilation.
He did start them under T5's and thats when it started I believe. I keep my T5's real close when seedlings but I do keep the air flowing between the plants and tubes. I am having the same issues but they have recovered in the last 3 days. I believe my problem was residual bleach in my hydroton, always used H2O2, but still kinda baffled.

How far is your light from the plants?
6-8" and never had an issue before. Thats why I thought it was something else lol. I still think it could be though as I haven't moved them and second set of leaves are fine. In saying that Super Stoner knows his shit. Also like I said I have a fan blowing over canopy as well.

Awesome my second set looks fine too...but this one baby is taking forever to recover from the light burn

still has a little green so there is hope. i don`t think it was light burn as much as over watered, now that's just my opinion.

I'm not convinced it was light burn either as I have not changed anything. But again super knows what he's talking about.

dry up and all that crazy stuff. it maybe light burn but i think it was from the rock wool being to wet. the reason i say that is because i have never light burned seedling but every time i`ve used rockwool i have problems with them getting over watered till the have roots established. once the roots get going i was golden, it was just getting them to that point i had troubles.
i`m not sure why you changed lights but the t5 should do fine just pull them back till those roots show up. pull the light back will keep the plant stretching for light, which in turn does the same as keep them a little hungry it`ll force the root growth you need right now. a light breeze from a fan would also help. no blowing directly on the plants, just enough to make them flutter a little every once in a while.

Thanks sounds good. I have backed off the watering and haven't watered in 3 days. Rockwool is still moist lol. And new growth is piling on. I changed the light out of panic mode that the t5 was getting to hot. My 600 turned down to 300 barely gives off any heat.

Sounds like you have it figured! I agree it may be the rock wool. I use it as well but this time I used jiffy pods that also stay wet. I just put 6 more seedlings directly into the hydroton today so I'll see if there's a difference. They will not be soaked continuosly.

Watering twice a day?
They are either evaporating too fast because its too hot, or they're definitely getting over watered.

now don`t get me wrong i`am not put the rockwool down at all, it just can be a bit tricky till you get a feel for it. just moist is good till you have some established roots.
your main goal when you have seedlings is to get the roots going, keeping them just a little hungry, the light backed off just a bit, keep them warmer than normal plants, and a fan that`ll shake them a little will help you accomplish the goal. good luck with `em.
