The therapist can provide a psychiatrist or physician with the records. Then the psychiatrist or physician can provide the proper documentation. Chances are you will need to find a dr that specializes in medical marijuana. A lot your normal psychiatrists or physicians will not do it and I cant say I blame them. Many of them are not educated on marijuana.

What you need to do find a medical marijuana clinic near your area and schedule an appointment. They will look at your records and depending on how they are documented is usually what decides on if they give you a card. If you don't have the proper documentation they will usually help point you in the right direction to getting the documentation. Then you can schedule another appointment with them. These medical marihuana Drs don't want to deny you but they have to follow the law. if you follow what they say you will get a card easy with ptsd. really it's more about the drs and state getting money. sorry to say it can be a long process sometimes tho.

Also if you are on any controlled substances from your normal physician and they find out your are using marijuana they may cut you off. some private owned ones wont even treat people that use marijuana. I find it best to be straight up with all Drs but at the same time get one that is either neutral or cool with marijuana.
