Can a simple ass setup work?

So i didnt feel like paying for expensive LED's so i decided to go with a 600w hps and maybe supplement 2 80w LED bulb lamps with uv and ir.
Anyways... to the setup!

So im thinking of growing right in the corner of a room in my apt...no grow tent, i have a ceiling fan, a decent size oscalating fan with a timer that has 3 speeds, the house ac, and windows in the room obviously. Im going to use panda film on the 2 corners of the wall and add panda film to one more side leaving one side still open...
I figure some light might be escaping that side but thats what the 2 LED bulbs will help with. Plus, i dont think i will have to worry about ventilation with this setup as it has the opening.
The space is a rectangle about 5x4xCeiling.
Only plan on growing 6 plants the most since im a CA prop 215 patient.
Will it work or am i crazy?

To cool a 600w HPS you will need strong exhaust fan, this will likely suck in the sides of a setup like you are describing. If you can form a panda film tent that can withstand the air pressure needed to cool the light, and provide 100% darkness, it should work fine.

I got less than $500 on a 2x4x6 oak cabinet, 2-t5ho and an carbon filter/fan combo. A 16 pound box of carbon from the hydro store to refill the filters.

I could whittle that down to about $300 for a simple, solid setup with either t5 or hid. Spend the $500 and upgrade to cob led.

Since you got the light already then get a sealed hood, pull from outside and push back outside. Make sure your room is sealed up enough to not waste cold air and your good. The trick here is to keep the a/c as efficient as possible, any leaks will raise electricity. Make a window box with an intake and exhaust for the hood and seal it all up with thick tape or something so your a/c doesn't waste power cooling the light or leaking cold air.

Led/t5/cob is also a good way to get away from the hood and ventilation

It's going to smell up the place if you ask me. If I turn off the fans/filters in my tents in the basement, the entire house smells 30 min later. I have to run my exhaust 24/7 and it's not a big grow. Even my phresh carbon filters have a hard time keeping up. I can smell it outside sometimes after being scrubbed.

I just don't see how your guna get your full dark period without it being completely sealed off from the rest of your living space ......
Its a spare room...i have no need to open the door to the room while the lights are off...the windows will be blacked out as well

But from what im gathering here, should i add 2 exhaust fans to the window in the room? One pushing, One pulling? And the charcoal filter? I was hoping i wouldnt need any extra ventilation with the open space style grow

How do you grow, if you dont mind me asking?

I was going to supplement a couple of 150w LED corn lights or a few 80w LED bulbs just to add to the quality of the bud and add a little extra light without adding too much heat. I will be adding another 600w hid soon too so im thinking of growing 8-12 plants under that and hope i can get 3-4lbs a harvest

For my setup i just recieved the inline fan, vent and filter. I will probably need another fan for intake but idk yet...so far i only have the 1 600w setup and i made the space about 5x6xceiling but i can upload a pic in a lil bit. I left one side of the grow space open and already blacked out the windows so im not trying to use a grow tent and the room is completely dark

if you are not going to seal off your grow area then I don't know why you'd bother going in the corner, you might as well just have the lights in the middle of the room, I think you would be happier if you got yourself a tent or you lightproof a large cabinet, it will stink out your house everytime you open the door when you get into flowering if you don't. also light will beblasting out of the room every time you open the door

Ive already said ive got no reason to open the door to that room during the grow aside from just going in once a day to check and feed, and when i go in, guess what i do? Close the door behind me lol...and as for the middle... Nahhh im good, why would i want it there, i have so much space now to work with and add to since ive only used one corner of the room so far

my first indoor grow was in a 2 bedroom apartment i rented for the sole purpose of me finally growing (i slept in one room, the other was my mini grow room). i had a 600w hps with hood that i hung from hooks drilled into ceiling beams, and used 1 gallon air-pots. i only used botanicare cns 17, cal-mag, epsom salt, and molasses and was getting about 45 grams each from 9 plants with a 3 week veg. that entire set-up cost me less than $400 (including the cost of the clones), and the nug came out beautifully once i figured out what not to do. you don't need fancy equipment to grow good nug.

Your plan sounds good to me as a few have said you dont need to spend big to get a good result. The only thing I would consider is a carbon filter exhaust only if smell is a problem. Its true that outside grows the plants really never get full darkness, but thats the beauty of inside we can control everything. Good luck with your girls an keep on your path of happy gardening:joint::bigjoint: may all your Buds be BIG ONES.:hump:
