I am trying to decide between making/purchasing a stealth grow cabinet or simply converting a clothing closet into a growing room. What do you think about either of these suggestions in terms of growth efficiency, ability to control odor, ability to control temp/humidity, and security?

Depends on how much you can do with the closet. If you have access to an attic from the closet for ventelation, and you can figure a good way to light proof the space, then there you go. Save the bling for some more toys.
