C99 from Female Seeds

I was going to grow the C99 from Blimburn, but it didn't hatch, so I ended up trying Female Seeds' genetics. It turned out really good.
It started out small in flower but grew really big, lots of stretching. The smell was low profile, really stealthy.
The bud had a really appealing smell, tropical and exotic, but not pineapple like others describe. It's sweet like a bag of fresh candy. For some reason I found it tasted better fresh, before curing. It lost some flavor after curing.

- stretches a lot in flower
- low smell
- fluffy buds on bottom, larger denser buds on top
- calyx to bud ratio is good
- not much trim for making hash
- weighed out to 88 grams grown in a 5 gallon container in 2 feet of space

Smoke test in ice bong:
Smoke is smooth and tasty. Sativa leaning as it looks but there is some indica in it.
I'm down to my last bud of it as of posting this report. Seems like good stuff to me.

Interesting strain, I can see why it's so popular.

I just found an outdoor c99 from female seeds fallen over. Its been wet here. Damn root aphids got it. It was done though. Very strong pineapple and pine taste and smell. Good day smoke. Gets you up and moving.

Nice grow mate. She looks good. I Have run fms c99 3 times and have had same pheno all 3 times. Has a slight pineapple smell and taste but more just a mash up of tropical fruits id say. Light to medium feeder throughout and after 6 week veg and just under 9 week flower in 30 ltr pot yielded 9 oz dry. Top buds were best as anything after halfway down was very airy. Cured for 6 weeks after 8 day dry and its a different ball game all together and just gets stronger. Too much will space you out and have you trying to remember what you were thinking 5 seconds ago.

man my c99s are killing it in the flower room, the smell is just like a pineapple. got till jan 11 till there done . well thats when 56 days are up .

I agree with your numbers 100%, that is exactly what i would rate F-C-99 at. The major problem i am having with this strain is breeding. I flipped a female then pollinated three others, waited three weeks and noticed the seeds were not maturing at all. Almost all of them look like puny tiny specs and the ones that were average size had a dead embryo inside. Have to start all over again without knowing what went wrong.

But, any reason for harvesting so early? At 52 days it totally wasnt done. Judging from your pics I would have taken it at least anothet couple of weeks, probably more...it would have packed on more weight too.

The word is you are supposed to take these at 49 days no matter what. Not sure about the truth to that but it may be legit. Something to do with the sativa high instead of an indica type high.

But it's a C99...a sativa dom hybrid...its going to have a sativa type high no matter what unless your growing a full on indica dom pheno. If you're pulling a plant that early (and anyone can look at those pics and see its wasn't even close) just to get a certain type of high then you're doing it wrong imo. Why not just grow out a plant that has those characteristics when harvested when it should be? It makes no sense to me.

Bullshit. Whoever told you that has their head so far up their ass they can see what they had for lunch. Plants don't give a fuck how many days we think it takes, and harvesting early is merely stealing from yourself. Goddamn, the shit people believe in this game continues to blow my mind. Would you harvest tomatoes when they were green because someone told you that you had to harbest 49 days after flowers appeared? Have you ever grown a tomato or another light loving crop like chilis? Cannabis is not some magical unicorn it is a goddamn C3 vascular plant, pretty much the most standard kind of plant, in the terms we laypersons think in (algaes being the most common plant type by biomass, of course) - here is no magical mystery to discover about growing it. Listen to your plants, get a microscope for your phone so you can inspect trichomes, and start learning how to decide when to harvest for yourself. Cheers!

Whereas there is no disputing this ^^^ in fairness to HotWired it is a 7week strain. Leave it too long and she loses what is unique about her.

I also read the same advice but didn't take it, mine went just short of 60 days and the results are beautiful.

The most pleasant, cleanest head high I've had to date. Very nice indeed.

Unfortunately the White widow x big bud by Female Seeds isn't quite of the same quality.

Pleasant enough but not too strong and nothing special about her at all. Nice yielder though
