Hey Hey Legends
wats doing?

just a quick question. ive asked a few people that don't smoke they gave me shit answers (i only trust people that smoke hehe :)

anyways basically im getting stooged at my work. i can't name names but their a big company. i pretty much run the show and get payed sweet fuk all. so their going big on 2 new product which they have already invested over 2 million dollars in. when i started to think how can stooge a stooge. i then thought why not buy the website domain name. i have checked and they havent registered it yet for the product their going to sell soon.

the main question is once you buy a domain name its yours right? ie if someone wants it they have to pay you whatever the price is you asked even if its a night with the director daughter.
is their any legal shit i should prepare for early? its going to be a battle.

cheers sorry that took soo long to get out, im pretty trollied

anyways any info would be awesome

Peace
Sidney

You could register but you'd have to make use of it. You can't just purchase and put up a placeholder in hopes to sell it. You can purchase it and deny them access though. Just make a parody site or something.

I'm not sure if there would be any other legal reprecussions being your involved with the company.

If it is trademarked or copyrighted, and if you register the domain, they will send you a legal notice to hand it over. And you will have to hand it over to them or they will file a case with WIPO. It will always be in their favor.

But if they have not yet trademarked it, you can register the domain and they can't do shit about it. All they can do is pay you some money and get it.

I second whiteflour in checking up on where you will stand legally, be it a conflict of interest issue or whatnot, good to hold as many cards as possible.
