Burping jars into high humidity??

So I'm currently trying to cure my latest crop. I know the aim is to let the humidity rise in the sealed jars then but then to release the moisture and repeat until the humidity in the jar is ~60%.

Unfortunately the humidity where I live is currently around 90% and has been for weeks. I had to dry using a cardboard box with lots of tiny holes, with my out take blowing at it (not ideal but neithers mould).

Theoretically no matter how much I burp the Jar, it will never hit 60% in these conditions.

Am I right? If so what can I do to avoid my still sticky buds from moulding or to hit the cure zone?

Thanks in advance RUI community! Weat.

If rh is 90 then you will have problems getting ur jars to 60%. I would get a dehumidifier and stick it in a closet or grow tent.

Worse case scenario, it's possible to this in a car; I can get my humidity to around 50% (when outside is 90%+) within a couple minutes. Just beware of temperature differences in relation to relative humidity: If you do this in a car that's warmer than your home, then the RH will rise once brought back in to the cooler home, so it's a good idea to shoot for both temps near par, if possible. And of course all this is dependent on your having a truly air-tight jar.

As for lowering humidity within the home, do you have a window AC? My grow room humidity here in South Louisiana was hovering upwards of 77%, even with the AC on full blast. But once I added a heater and placed the AC on 'Dry Mode', the result has been a steady 75F & 32% RH!

* If you choose the car method, then you should consider acquiring Boveda 59% or 62% so to bring humidity within cured jar(s) back down after opening to pull a bud out.

How are you currently measuring the humidity in your jars? You can bypass ordering gauges off the net with a simple trip to a petco. The little digital hydrometers for reptile tanks work fine and dandy. I've actually seen people marketing those on amazon and they just cut a hole in the top of a mason jar, plopped one in and sealed it. I've tested them in jars of bud and empty jars with boveda packs. They're stupid cheap as well. Just be sure to look for the % sign at the end of the number. I was looking at one backwards and thought my jar somehow got way off. Grab the digital though cause the little analogue ones can be off by a few degrees sometimes if they're shaken around. They're very fragile.
A method you can do without a dehumidifier would be just to lay your buds out and have a fan blowing on them. It's not ideal but like you said neither is mold. Don't have your buds get blasted with wind but with a slight direct breeze. It'll dry out the outside a bit. You wanna wait til they get feeling "crispy" then rejar and sweat them. The inside moisture will spread throughout and the overall RH wil drop. But I'd check on them every hour and a half to 2 hours. Set an alarm. I fell asleep and took a 6 hour nap once while doing it :wall:

The packs aren't going to pull moisture out if they're already full though. The packs can only hold so much. They'll do absolutely nothing if they're full except release moisture if the RH in their environment is below their stated %
Although you CAN suck moisture out of buds if you have a dried out pack or one that's semi dry. You'll feel little rocky clusters inside of the packs. I had a completely dried out pack and chucked it in a jar with a bunch of chunky wet popcorn. It pulled moisture out of them over the span of several days.
It'd be best if OP gets them down to the desired RH beforehand.
Boveda is for storage and not drying by default. I've seen many people rant here because they tossed buds that were too wet in a jar with Boveda and ended up with mold. Thinking it was some sort of miracle pouch and whatnot. They just see 2 way control but don't bother to research exactly how that works. Or even read the instructions.
A brand new pack straight out of the box will do absolutely nothing though on buds that are too wet.

I got some cheap ass hydrometers for 3.25 off the internet, I keep 1 in every gar now. My rh is 90 or more just like yours, and I lost my last harvest to mold after the garring and that's when I got the hydrometers. I built a two section cabinet with a 60 watt light in the bottom and hanging chambers above of course with lots of ventilation if I had a larger grow I need to upscale the system. I can get the rh down in the cabinet to Low numbers add buds and its just a matter of time.
