Buried clay pots irrigation-Ollas

So I came across a way of using clay pots for irrigation which i think would work great for a gorilla grow. You put the clay pot into the soil and the plants roots will wick the water away. It's been around for ever just haven't seen anyone doing this with Mary jane. There called Ollas

Just Google clay Ollas

Has anyone tried this?

Try it out and let us know. I'm guessing they would not drain fast so I'm guessing root rot would not be an issue - but I'm just guessing ;)
