Built in ballasts?

Are there any known issues with these?

Just wondering if , even though it is air coolable, does it get rid of enough heat seeing as how the ballast is right there also.

I have the 150w. It is what it is.

It's nice for what i have it for, but i wouldn't want any bigger lights like that. Mostly because of cooling issues, but i also like to be able to replace broken stuff, use ballasts of my choice, and i like to use certain brands of bulbs. Not all HPS bulbs are built the same, and i like to have the best spectrum and most lumens per watt possible.

they are perfectly safe. if you want it is possible to remove the ballast and rewire it to sit outside of the growspace.
