well i live on the east coast so reenactments are a big thing out here(williamsburg) in fact i live outside a little town what was made in 1776 called new market ........it is all old houses and shops for 1 weekend a year they turn back the clock and live in the 1700.....ppl come from all over to see it and get old fashion things like soap / stuff from the shops.....

hell i know how to make my own ink and write with a feather ..........one year i was even the blacksmith helper (that was fun for me) i can make nails horse shoe did not come out right ...did not let me work on the blades he makes to much money on the sale of those

i might be a nuttier but i got a IQ over 150 ...........most of the stuff i learned over the years is still stuck in my head
Sounds like a good time to me!

my grandparents were into that stuff so i been to everything like that around a 300 mile area for my home ........it is alot of fun and the ppl liked when u asked ?s about the stuff i learned alot on each trip (honestly ppl from the past are tougher then us alot of work just for the basics we do not even give 2nd thought about)

but for u thing to work Trade is a must u might get a few of the things u need in your area but in the end u will need outside supplies to keep increasing what u are able to do .........stand alone settlement 70-100 ppl after that u need imports ( look at the colonies set up when they first came here year or 2 before resupplies so they had to make due with what they had at settlements)

oh and know fishing as a main source for food is no longer a option with the mercury lvls in the water and in the fish ....so even with saltwater evap for salt u are still going to be slowly poisoning selves (mad hatter times .......they went nutty due to mercury )
