building A cab for micro SOG

But I am also continually building new prototypes and things change all the time, but knowing and understanding the parameters goes a long way into the build...

My experience is that I started like you, definitely conscious of cost and wanting to spend the least amount but still getting the highest quality yields in return I could....Fast Forward 2 years later....I spent WAY more on cheap ass Ebay shit ironically, that was continually faulty or breaking down.....

Now I have settled onto Cree/Vero/ Meanwell train for all the lighting components for my builds....the more I use these types of diodes....The more I am simply impressed.....my cost curve has been heading down, even below what generic builds were costing, simply because, you get what you pay for.....

Better equipment imho, has led to better reliability and less cost.......Sometimes you gotta spend it to save it....and if you don't quite have all the quid......WAIT!

can you show me a link as to where to get those vero LED for as cheap as you mention? i would most deff go that route if i knew they were that cheap. the only ones im finding are 62w and way out of my pricerange to even run two. if the 10s are 10W then i found those to but still pricey for as many as i would need. and those bridgelux do they run pretty cool? what heatsinks did you use? sorry i cant see any of the pictures in the links you posted
your working with the RIGHT GUY now, Abiqua knows his stuff man, get your lights set up with his advice and your box will ROCK IT for sure, and your box build seems right on the money, you will get some great bud out of it for sure

I have a cabinet with a similar dimension to yours(but much taller with a veg room on top). Do you have a separate cabinet for mothers/cloning? If not are you planning on running seed every time?

Just recently upgraded from a 250 HPS to LEDs.

yeah i have a cardboard box for mothers and a cabinet in my room for clones wiith a tray and a simple led light with a bunch of 3w leds. i want to upgrade the mother box so i can keep more than one momma so i can get more than one strain, thinking i can fit a tent inn the attic, but would need to pull cool air in from the room below it, not sure on that yet. but yes i am using a momma and cloning her, geting about 5 clones a week, i want to do 4 a week try to pull over a zone a week just to smoke on. keeping it small scale, might even do it in solo cups, but i need to figure out a cycle for perpetual harvest all in two cabinets, dont have the house to do room full of plants yet. but here in the next year ill be getting out of this place and into a med state so thats that

thanks man, yeah ive been doing some more looking around at led and everything that goes with them, i think im going to find some quality 120v fans for the heat sinks tho, i need them to chuck some air, led get hot and that affects life drastically, i want these to last 5 years for the money thats going to be put into it

Get a fan that is y bigger than you need, then you can dail it down, and they get quiet, if you need stealth,

Just went and measured. I have 37" in height. I do a high density SOG, flowering anywhere from right after a clone roots to ~6" depending on the strain. With your height available you could do something similar or a Scrog, even LST to keep your height in check.

I'd recommend soft running COB Led's well distributed through your space so you can keep them quite close to the canopy. Depending on how stealth you need it to be you could gain extra height by cutting holes for the heatsinks and cooling them outside.

i havent built anything yet, i have however gotten some leds. ill upload all updates here in a little bit when i get some time to get it all toghether and pictures. i have one mother plant going now and just popped a seed for another indica dom fem, deff want to do the 6 plants in one gallon pots, lst to get a few colas and flip it to 12/12 after a week. of veg from rooted clone. going to be fairly small clones. they claim this has an 8 week flowering but will sacrafise time for quality in the end. not expecting anything in yeild. as i have no idea with this being a first grow in a new cab. ill be building this weekend. have a good one all
