Saw this on some forum this morning. Sad but mostly true.

If there are 5 blacks per 100 people, everyone applauds how integrated the community is.
At 5-10% black there is an occasional spike in loudness, but it's usually isolated and brief. People are usually too embarrassed to say anything, and it temporarily abates.

At 10-20% black, these problems rise dramatically. People occasionally hear loud hip-hop music from a passing vehicle, usually later & later at night, as an outgoing signal of rising 'blackness' in the community.
Pasadena, California — Black 10.7% (figures are 2011)
Manhattan, New York — Black 12.9%

At 20-30% black, the loudness & behavior is so disruptive that well-meaning families begin to stop going to certain public areas. Black-on-black fights occur to establish dominance, and fights between black females occur in parking lots, usually over a black male.
Boston, Massachusetts — Black 24.4%
Tampa, Florida — Black 26.2%

At 30-40% minor public incidents give way to more serious crimes, and somewhere in the community the first felonies occur at the hands of blacks, targeting the elderly or defenseless.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida — Black 30.9%
Compton, Los Angeles — Black 32.9%
Willowbrook, Los Angeles — Black 34.4%

40-60% sees an atmosphere that is so loud, fast, & unpredictable that it interferes with peaceful activity. At this stage people's gut sense of "safety" in the community is eroding. Anticipating the unexpected starts to factor into simple decisions like going to the store or getting into one's car.
Inglewood, Los Angeles — Black 43.9%
Philadelphia — Black 44%
South Chicago — Black 50.2%
Carol City, Florida — Black 52.1%

60-75% black: expect covert drug use, and concealed guns. Good families are moving away. At this stage hip-hop emanating from cars is now an advertisement for illegal drug sales.
Opa-locka, Florida - Black 69.6% (In 2004 Opa-locka had the highest rate of violent crime for any city in the United States.)
Ladera Heights, California — Black 73.7%
Overtown, Miami — Black 74.7%

Now, at 75-85% black, walking down the street is now a risk. Find hair-trigger, unprovoked violence, usually targeted against those of non-black race. Calls to 9-1-1 demonstrate slower & slower response times. Local businesses deteriorate, as does the general condition of the neighborhood. The last of the liberal, die-hard families vacate the community whose memories they have cherished for decades.
East Garfield Park, Chicago — Black 75.5%
Brightmoor, Detroit — Black 82.7%
Gary, Indiana — Black 84%
Metcalfe Park, Milwaukee — Black 84.1%
Shaw, Washington D.C. — Black 84.8%

At 85-95% black, the public institutions in the area (schools, libraries, etc.) slowly wither from lack of use. Consumer places (food stores, day-care centers, etc.) show graffiti & territorial gang signs, and gang membership now outweighs the number of non-gang people. Drug sales & prostitution are open and obvious. A gunshot is heard every week. All businesses which are still in operation (liquor stores, stereo wholesalers, etc.) have bars on their windows.
Highland park, Detroit — Black 93.5%
Liberty City, Florida — Black 94.6%

At 95-100% black, there is debris everywhere. A large number of dwellings are ruined or burned-out. At this stage, the economy of the community is nearing total collapse, and good jobs are scarce. Emergency services infrequently patrol for fear of risking officers' lives.
Bronzeville, Milwaukee — Black 96.2%
Washington Heights, Chicago — Black 97.2%
Franklin Park, Florida — Black 97.6%
Englewood, Chicago — Black 100%
The name of the neighborhood is now synonymous with violence & gangs. At this stage the spread of this condition bears characteristics similar to the unchecked spread of a virus, and adjacent communities begin to show signs of following suit.

I have absolutely no hate towards anyone based on color, but I live in a <5% area. And even that one street where there is a "black" bar is the one place where violence and drugs happen (most of the time)...And yes all of the black people in my town live on the same street. Just another head scratcher.

Anyone in these higher % places? seen any progress in the community over your lifetime?

i grew up near chicago about 30 miles north west .
YES they are so much safer and most like wa hieghts have real grocery stores. in th 90's it was a sad stae of CRACK and VIOLENCE for silly gang related things . and to chase out WHITES>>>we bring COPS.
i dont agree that the above info is correct solely due to "BLACKNESS" i belive it is CRACK and other pressures . but the erroding of the communitys is a sad result of the few DOMINAting the many with police kickbacks and purposeful drug introductions that they as cannot face due to their tribal nature "brothers " means alot to my black friends killing is not a big deal....

Yea your right, And thanks for your input. Its not just because they are black. I can imagine being in their shoes. Having that us vs them mentality.
I remember learning about slavery when I was young. I felt almost guilty about it. And if I were black I would feel like I was owed something. If you don't shake that idea, it can be bad.
I would imagine living in cramped neighborhoods with no idea how to get to a successful level, the people with the best lives are the hustlers. A very dangerous occupation but I would aim right for that "good life". Especially with that feeling of no other way out. And I know when I see somebody better off than me It does trigger a little jealousy. even a bit of anger. "This asshole has a new car because his parents are rich"
I honestly think one of the biggest reason for the crime is because they have nothing to lose. I know when my life wasn't going so good and I thought about doing stupid shit What always brought me to my senses was the thought of losing my freedoms. Watching tv, Internet, hanging with friends, just life. But if life sucks and isn't fun. why would it matter if you are in jail? Again its not everyone in the black community, but its enough to give everyone a bad reputation. Just my opinion :peace:

And on a side note,I always understood why black people might have some hate for whites. But the Hoodie/robe wearing Purists, with their confederate flags lynching "niggers". I don't fucking get. Why the hate? just because they are different? Mad because they got freedom? Lost free labor? It is just completely uncalled for. ( another thing I would like to think is becoming less of a problem)

Thanks joe, I closed the poll just in case people started voting for the 2014 harvest. This year I had punk ass kids decide when to harvest for me:evil:. But at least I got most of it. I got into dry sieve, then ISO, then BHO over the last couple years, but now i'm all edibles. I was just smoking way too often and not getting high like I used to. And with the BHO my tolerance was going through the roof. Now I can get by all day with just 2 cookies8-) which equals about 1 gram of bud all day. I like it much better. I don't care what people say, there is something addictive about smoking bud. I got the same pissed off feeling that I did when I quit cigs (when I stopped smoking bud).

My breath and lungs really like it too! still get the muchies and cotton mouth, and look retahded haha. But I never get that pissed off feeling when Im not high. something to think about. :weed:

And speaking of the poll, I don't think I commented on it. I was very happy to see almost half of the folks had success. And wish I separated rippers and police. I bet most of those were rippers and not police. Just would have really liked to see how little the police effect things. Give people more hope that its a safe hobby.

And I wouldn't know how to answer with having some of my plants ripped...I met expectations but had a ripper issue.o_O

fucking low life rippers... cant work hard themselves . gotta plot on others ... i LOTH theives....

Oh man you are telling me. I am pretty sure I know who it was, but I should have had cameras. I actually live in a very secluded area, but fat teens down the street like to walk by my house and peek. And they actually came back 2 nights in a row, so you gota be pretty comfortable doing that. I almost waited out there with a bat after the first night but I was beat from trimming and work. God I might be in jail If I did:cuss:

i your crop is worth:
5k = 50$ security
50k= 500$ security
caregiver compliant with co laws= 2000$ security sucks but a must if you want the zoning cops to let you do your thing in the "open"

yea I would just be good with a couple cams or something, but I was actually thinking of building a sweet shed/room to sleep in right nexto the garden. 8x8 with a little bed and motion detectors. little woodstove maybe8)

http://www.marijuanagrowershq.com/decarboxylating-cannabis-turning-thca-into-thc/

And this is a link to a pretty interesting article on decarboxylation. If you scroll down you can actually see the lab results he did. I Am always concerned about cooking too much and hurting potency. but the way he showed it after 30 min and 60 min it shows exactly what converts.
But I was told that bud naturally decarbs itself in 3-4 months, something he didn't mention at all in that article:confused:. So I am thinking I don't want to decarb too much if its already 75% there. The search continues, but that lab test he did was nice to check out.

Once the temperature reached about 240° and did not appear to be increasing I placed a small Pyrex bowl of kief and another of the trim on the pizza stone. I set my timer for 30 minutes and continued to monitor the temperature. A Pyrex lasagna dish would be perfect for larger quantities. As expected, the temperature fell a few degrees from opening the door and then came back up to temperature. Throughout the half hour the temperature rose and fell several times for no apparent reason but stayed between 229° and 245° Fahrenheit.

After 30 minutes I removed both Pyrex containers with an oven mit and placed them on the counter to cool. Both the kief and the trim had noticeably fluffed up and gave off a slightly roasted scent. I took a few grams of each and packaged them for lab testing.

I returned the Pyrex dishes to the oven and set the timer for another half hour. I was pretty sure that 30 minutes had been enough to mostly decarboxylate the kief and trim, but just in case I wanted a backup test at a full hour. Either way I had to be patient and wait a few days for the test results to come back.

Results of Decarboxylation Experiment
The following charts show the results of the 30 minute and 60 minute decarboxylation experiments. Also included are the lab results from testing done prior to any artificial decarboxylation to establish a starting point. Note that because of the age of both the kief and the trim, decarboxylation had begun to take place to some degree naturally. This may not be your starting point, but should not affect the results of the experiment much.

Kief
CompoundBefore Decarb30 Min Decarb60 Min Decarb
THCA 24.5% 2.6% .1%
THC 3.8% 25.4% 25.5%
CBDA .6% .3% .3%
CBD 0% 1% .1%
CBN .4% 1% 1.4%
Moisture 0% 0% 0%
Total Cannabanoids 29.3% 30.3% 27.4%
Cannabis Trim

THCA 6.5% 2.9% .2%
THC .6% 4.8% 6.9%
CBDA .2% .2% .1%
CBD 0% 0% .1%
CBN 0% 0% 0%
Moisture 3.4% 4.5% 0%
Total Cannabanoids 7.3% 7.9% 7.3%
Testing provided by SC Labs

As you can see from the two charts, 30 minutes was not quite enough to completely decarboxylate either the kief or the trim. At 30 minutes the kief was about 90% decarboxylated but the trim was only about 60% decarboxylated. This difference is likely because the trim had a higher starting moisture content. After 60 minutes however, both keif and trim samples were close enough to 100% decarboxylation for my satisfaction.

Holy fucking shit !!!
the kief cannot be eaten and get you high without being heated past 240*
wowwowwow for my edibles making

Nice! I love seeing the actual lab results. It seems like 30 and 60 min with the kief didn't make that much of a difference. And strange how the moisture went up after 30 min for the trim:confused: I would agree And say the moisture of the trim made it take a bit longer.

I actually just decarbed a batch of almost 3 month old bud. I figured it was decarbed a little bit ( I heard from once source it would naturally decarb over 3-4 months, don't know if its true. I actually heard otherwise too). So I went 250 for 15 min. (fresh I do 30) And I plan on leaving the grinded bud in there (no strain). I just read an article about how the leaf might separate with the water. But even if it doesn't im down for the extra fiber in my diet.

I also add soy lecithin which is recommended (seemed to help last time). And going back to the croc pot (fuck stove top). Ill keep ya updated. (might be a few weeks before I make anything with this batch):leaf:

A step in the right direction. If I had more water for the separation I think it would have worked perfectly. Some of the bud material was high enough to get caught in the butter. Even after these pics I was able to take a butterknife and remove a little more crud off the butter.
Much less waste than what you lose straining through cheesecloth. Like I said with deeper water it should all separate.

* I use 1.5 oz per LB of butter. that's why there is so much material. But I think I am on to something here. ( I am all about efficiency)

Shout out to MLK! What an unbelievable man. He knew the country wasn't right, and did everything he could to try and change it. Sacrificed it all to try and better society. Its amazing how recently this all happened. Remember him on this day.

After the 1963 JFK assassination, he told his wife Coretta: "This is what is going to happen to me also. I keep telling you, this is a sick society."[5][6]

King's autopsy revealed that though he was only 39 years old, he had the heart of a 60-year-old man, which Branch attributed to the stress of King's 13 years in the civil-rights movement.[19]

I have to know man what size containers were you using and how often did you water??? Yield per plant roughly???
If you are talking about my Guerilla grow, they are small. Maybe 2-3 gal. But I cut out the bottoms and have good sized holes filled with good soil underneath. Its my way of getting a bigger root system and bringing the plants up a little higher so they get better sun early in life.
The only down side is when they get so big they don't stand up so sturdy. when the buds get heavy and then it rains its almost guaranteed they will lean over. (Most of the supportive root system is in the pot, so it tends to tip over with all the weight)

And I water (feed*) one time a week with 4 gallons:D Do a lot of rain dancing. I try not to visit to often, but the land owner knows im there. I don't think I can go back next year:cry: (someones been cutting down paths to all my spots)

Yield isn't that great, I think I put it in the thread somewhere. I don't get a whole lot of sun. and with the limited feeds they are quite airy. But for one visit a week I cant complain.
