Buds lacking density

Judging by the height of the plants you mentioned+number of plants+space available.......plain and simple......your smothering the plants......and YES you WILL get more and better quality bud by reducing your plant count to 6.....this will help your 6 plants in more ways than one.........1,they can BREATH better....2,they can absorb light better....3,better control can be had because technically you can see most of the plants now and defs can be seen and treated earlier......I can go on but I'm sure you get the idea of wot I'm on about.......

Well I just bought a new hood so that I can change up ventilation. Right this moment I have an adjust a wing hood with intake coming from the window and an 8 inch 400something cfm exhaust fan hanging out of my return air vent at the top of the room.

After I upgrade my hood, I got an air cooled hood, which I'm removing the glass from and punching out a single 8 inch opening and then I'll be exhausting from the opening of the hood. Which will hopefully lower my temp a degree or two. But more importantly it will be exhausting the plants better instead of passively at the ceiling

What worked for me was to add a couple cheap LEDs as side lighting. I can easily fit 11 plants in my space but I target those closest to harvesting under the LED to help them finish & harden up the lowers. Genetics does have something to do with bud structure; some strains make tighter nuggets than others. Another thing is to let your plants get a full 10 weeks or more of bloom phase. I run my bloom room at 11.5/12.5 to get en extra 30 mins of darkness plus I switch from 18/6 to 17/7 in the final 2 weeks of veg before flip which I think helps them stems bulk up & makes bigger flowers later on. Also cut off any branches near the bottom that will end up as wispy loose bud; the plant uses too much energy to keep them growing & getting rid of that will push energy towards the top of the plant & focus on developing the flowers in the canopy.

I would be willing to buy some supplemental lights, but following my next grow (harvesting spring right now, starting summer in a couple weeks) I'll be going hydro in the fall, at that time im setting up a scrog and cutting down to 4 plants.

How's your environment? Airflow? Light penetration? A pound is doable with a 600w light if you can manage your canopy properly. That's the hardest part of growing IMO, right now I have 16 clones in 1 gallon pots under one 400w hps. That puts me at a plant per sq/ft. I get nothing but rock hard buds. It's your environmental consistency, genetic capabilities, light intensity, light penetration***, feeding consistency, and devotion to keeping the grow area clean that will get you the harvest you are looking for :-) Good luck my man

I'm not sure how the penetration is. I've got 9 right now in 7 gallon pots. The got taller than I wanted, and I did very little training so my canopy is all over the place. I just harvested 3 space rippers, and I actually got 38 grams per space ripper. 4.1 zips for the 3 combined. Not what most people would hope for, but better than I have in the past.

How many weeks at 12/12?
on week 8 right now. Just harvested the 3 that have an earlier finish time.

trust me , its not the plant number . its not the lighting . I threw a few plants into the corner baby plants lol about 8 inches tall total in flower hardly any lighting it still pulled rock hard . and the other plants were 4 foot tall . so you know the lights were very far away. it did not pull much but yes it was quality. just get a different strand next grow . you will be ok .

Why do I think he simply has to run longer?

Come on guys, he's got the potential.....I'll bet on early harvest as the culprit.
You don't count and harvest on time!
You grow till their done. Breeder says 8 weeks - It'll be more like 10!
The colas were completely closed and solid. Hairs receded and proper color. Tricbomes looked nice and milky, although I do need a more magnified loupe

This is my third grow, and I've done about 12 strands. None of them were as dense as id like. Last harvest breeder said I wasn't watering enough. It could still be my issue. I give about a half gallon per plant every 3 days

What size pots? I do at least that everyday in 5 gallon pots!
Yup, if your watering that little amount every three days..

More light
less RH (less then 50% RH)
higher canopy temps (around 90) The higher canopy temps are from light proximity..The farther down the plant you take readings. The lower the temp reading. (hot canopies and cool roots)

Between us I think we have like 87 years of growing ? and we keep tryin to tell em 8)

you water half a gallon of water in 5 gallon plants every day?! None of my plants ever showed signs of underwatering (unlike my last crop) so your suggesting I water more then I take it? these are 7 gallon fabric pots.

Yea idk if I'd water 1/2 gallon everyday that seems excessive. I give my ladies roughly 1 gallon every 3-4 days in 5 gallon pots just my experience personally I wouldn't water everyday
