Buds for Less - CFL BOOK

I have a question about this book. In the book Buds for Less the plant did amazingly well without the reflectors. So what added benefit would the reflectors have? Would the yield be more, or would the plant grow faster?

I think the reflectors were only removed for the photos and then replaced after the photos were taken. I could be wrong. As the name says they reflect the light back on to the plant. So that light isn't wasted.

I was thinking about that the other day, kinda :D. If you could keep making larger and larger strains till the plant gets like a tree, where it does't want to die and becomes seasonal. It would take years and years of breeding im sure. If it could become like a tree, you think it will have sap? Would the sap be resin?. Don't mind me, im high. Would be awesome though. :leaf:

Purchase your book, looking for feed back, hopefully the OP can respond sooner than later.

I'm having the most difficult fucking time ever finding the "sheet metal brackets" to mount the wood of the lighting fixture together. Did you get those at a major retailer like Lowes or Home Depot?

The brackets you will find in the roofing section of any lowes or home depot. They are called "metal shingles".... they come in diff sizes... they are runnung under the siding while roofing a house.... me.. I just took an hps dome and hollowed it out... put one ficture in the center and then split off from that... so I have 4 42 w wich equals 600 watts and a buld that says it puts out 300 watts... so 900 watts total on 4 plants... they are doing great!....

Check my journal. I have 9 plants under 3000w equiv of CFL. I have 758 actual watts which equal 3050 total watts. They are doing great! I just switched them to flower a few days ago and changed all my bulbs to 2700k. They vegged under mixed spectrums -- both 2700k and 5000-6500k bulbs.

I am sooo stoked that we have a CFL forum.

Although you can get plenty of help from me here at the forums, you can also get my BOOK!

I have had my first book published based on a CFL GROW. You can check the book out at....

How to grow marijuana - See More Buds - video DVD reviews

Yes this is a PLUG...

The book is selling very well.

"Buds for Less"
gives day by day, step by step instructions on how to grow 8 ounces of chronic using CFLs. The book includes pictures from every single day of the GROW!

Well I wouldn't buy it, since I can get 100-fold the info in that book online for nothing, but I certainly can't object to someone else giving it a go - making emselves a book :)

Yeah if you are trying to learn and you want to spent countless hours trying to get all the info. together and also trying to determine which of the thousands of opinions on the all the different aspects of growing might be right, then by all means do the research. If you want all the info. in one place, concise and accurate for a low budget cfl grow, then get the book.

What you're saying, is that by buying this book we'll never have to research growing cannabis again? From a leaflet-sized 'book'? .. What a load of shit :)

It's in any decent growers nature to explore, experiment, and learn for themselves how to do things: That's how you get to actually know what you're talking about, all that.

So even if this (or any other book) contained every single trinket of information about growing indoors, it's still can't guarantee you'll harvest a decent yield - indeed, reading a book doesn't make you an experienced grower, and all the info within - well most books these days - can be found right here online, with full colour photos, for nothing, nadda, zip, ZILCH :)

To be a half way useful reference even, it would need to teach you ALL the basics of hydroponic/organic techniques, cloning, breeding, limiting factors, water/nutrients, as well as at least a good chunk of introductory information on some of the equipment used indoors these days to produce a crop.

I just don't see much point in a book that simply outlines ONE method of growing, when I know there's almost no limit to the rainbow of different grow setups.

Such a small amount of information isn't even worth buying. :"CFL Growing" Should be just ONE CHAPTER, in ONE SECTION of a real book, not a 'leaflet' of it's own.

I throw leaflets in the trash, I don't pay for em. :)
