Bud rot post harvest preventative maintenance ? ? ?

Is their anything that can be used on harvested bud as a preventative maintenance for bud rot ??? ???

Besides watching closely and culling ??? ???


How about seed saving ............ A bleach wash should work ??? (4 drops of bleach 5.5% per liter of water for 2 minutes) ??? ??? ???

Bud rot (botrytis) usually has already started by the time you harvest. I like to peak in between the clusters right before I hang them. If you find any the only thing you can do is cut out that entire area plus extra with clean scissors. Don't use bleach on marijuana!

Breaking those big cola buds down to smaller buds. But I agree, most rot forms during growing not after harvest.

Bud rot is just mold growth. Lots of fresh air (I.E. powerful inline fans) and humidity control (i.e. dehumidifier) will prevent bud rot.

Mold does not like fresh moving air. Make your grow environment inhospitable for mold growth and you'll never see bud rot.

You can prevent bud rot by spraying with 1 tbsp potassium bicarbonate per gallon of water this can be done at any time even late in the bud stage Potassium Bicarbonate (KHCO3) inhibits the growth of molds and fungi. It is an organic treatment widely used on crops and edible plants because it is a naturally occurring compound in humans, animals and plants as a built-in defense mechanism.

Very interesting information on the Potassium Bicorbonate. You just gave me a little homework project that I'll now have to read up on :)

My understanding is bicarbs don't work that well with bud rot becouse it has a difficult time penetrating a dense bud , in the middle where it's needed most

I actually use bicarbs for powdery mold prevention , and it works fairly well at a decent price

I would not grow MJ indoors if it were 100% legal, and I live in a humid area
