Used it one grow, worked, but I could taste it in the flowers :-( I have since switched to Botanicare raw, as a carb. Or if you like to stick with AN, I think thier carboload is a tasteless product.

in what way do they love it?
Ive grown the same strain with and without it and there is noticeable difference in aroma and quality/quantity of the finished product. I have no idea whats in the stuff besides the micro nutrients it lists, amino acids, and what smells like molasses or something similar, but it is very similar to the other products listed in the thread. I have used it at full strength and notice no better results than 1/3 strength which is what i use. I bet you can mix a few less expensive products like an amino acid supplement, (botanicare vitamino is one), black strap molasses and a sulfer/mag supplement (probably not even needed if you are feeding enough sulf/mag) to make something similar, but as i said i have no idea in what proportions and there is probably other stuff in it.

As i said in previous post, the stuff is expensive and u dont need nearly 15ml/gal or feed it every feeding or feed it during veg. If i was growing on a larger scale i would likely find a substitute, but seeing as i use about 1/2 a bottle ($25) per cycle it is more convenient to just buy it.

I honestly am not sure why it works, but i have been told it feeds the beneficial microbes and helps them to stay alive when using chemical hydroponic fertilizers much the same as people use black strap for. This along with the amino acids give the plant an enhanced ability to uptake the nutrients and you end up with a more productive plant.

BTW i am not talking about the flavor enhancing bullshit of some of these products, that is just some ugly chemical i want nowhere near my buds. Bud Candy, Sugar Daddy and Botanicare Sweet Raw are quality products that have a benefit without a chemical additive aimed at changing the taste of the fruit. That being said, all of these products are a rip off.

And that is about it because the few trace minerals in the carbs is miniscule compare to a decent base nutrient.
Yes, of course the product is to be used with a nutrient regiment as it contains almost no nutrients. I am unsure if u understand the point of the product, it is not a nutrient. It contains many things, but not base nutrients, i dont think anyone including AN is claiming its "Bud Candy" has much nutrient value. It is intended to help the plant uptake the other nutrients it needs.

The carbs feed the beneficials, not the plant.

I am not a AN user, and find their product line to be absurdly expensive and complicated, but it works and the products are quality for the most part if u dont mind the price. I personally think no one needs more than the GH flora series and maybe a couple supplements but Sugar Daddy is a good one even though they are all a rip-off.

The sweetener products are a ripoff but they serve a purpose. Contrary to popular belief some simple sugars are taken up by the plant. Not just to "feed the microherd" (a very popular saying that most cannot explain). Thers is evidence that these sugars maybe responible for a part of early flower development. Products like Sweet and the rest are clearly overpriced but they are great transition to flower solutions. Ive used Sweet Raw in the past. Cannabis loves an early spike of magnesium sulphate and another about mid flower. My plants stretched less in early flower ( low phosphorus helps VERY early also), Were less rubbery at the tops (excess ammonium and nitrate nitrogen) and pistil formation was noticeably earlier. Used throughout the flowering months the plants had more trichome and terpene production also. But for the price per gallon....??? Thats on you!!
