I could figure this out, but I'd need to know the density of protekt in order to do the exact calculation.

The short answer is you'd use very little. Your pH will go up the same as if you were using protekt so that's how you'd know.

We're talking somewhere around 0.15g - 0.5g (ballpark) of potassium silicate per gallon of water in the reservoir.

ok church just for s&giggles how many grams of dried P S would need to be mixed into one gallon of purified water to = the same ratio as protekt?

right, see. i don't have the equipment to measure amounts that small. and I don't add the protekt to get desired ph either.

I add around just over 1ml/gallon rez of the protekt into my rez. first. This works out to around two oz. of protekt per 50 gallon rez.

I let it mix into the purified water for a minute and then add my nutes. I have it down to the point I don't even need to check ec or ph really. My nutes mix very close to the same every time.

no fuss no muss.

I do not use protekt as a ph up like some people do either. I use ph up for that.

Agsil16h is 29.95 for 4 lbs, 560 grams in a gallon of water equals Protekt. That was my point, you are doing the exact same thing as the guy buying bigbud. Dont get me wrong, I wasnt knocking Dynagro, I was just pointing out that they do the same thing as AN, they are bottling a simple salt and marking the price up, AN just gives you more options to fuck you with, thats all

In the case of those simple additives like a PK booster or a silica additive, I'd agree. I was only referring to mixing your own base nutrients which is not only a complex task, but also requires a lot of know-how in regards to putting together a mineral profile that plants would thrive on. Heck, even when the mixing has been done for us, 90% of us on these forums still aren't using it correctly (See this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/nutrients/795921-strongest-ec-your-plants-have.html)

60k net? well if you spend 20k on AN products, plus lights and medium, that takes down the GP (Gross Profit) quite a bit ;-)

Shit my paychecks look awesome if you look at the net, but the numbers game is played with Gross Profit.

Looks like you scared him a little Homebrewer lol

are you saying that if you use AN your nutes will consume 1/3 of your net?
You did something terribly wrong if that's the case. What AN products did you run that gave you those shit results? I woulda quit growing after that. What base/additives did you switch to after your shit results with AN?

Hey BROBIE, is there any particular reason why you decided to delete the message above? ;)
Decided not to play this tiring dick measuring bullshit. You get on here day after day slamming AN looking for the occasional praise for your grows to satisfy your hungry ego, just like Uncle Ben. You two have issues.

Yeah it was just a shoot from the hip comparison, I personally I have never had shit results with AN, I actually like them and still use them from time to time. Though I have moved on to other brands that cost me a little less with fewer bottles. I have several AN products and will continue to use them until they are gone. Connoisseur A+B will be used again this year so I can compare my self with a side by side to see if my switch was worth it. It would compare results for me and my environment to see what works best for me, not anyone else. All in all I was drunk and just fired back at kind of a smart ass remark with another smart ass remark. Hey two asses don't make a right!

Happy Growing with whatever love you choose to show your plants !

Lol go on hating mate I feel sorry for you that AN doesnt work for you
Not hating it works well. No need to feel sorry for me I learned a long time ago that there are many other brands that work as well or better for a fraction of the price. I feel bad for newbs starting out buying into the bullshit that you need 18 different bottles for plants that only require 16 elements. Only $225.00
The labels are pretty though.

Poop [emoji90] nutrients
Cogo's original cannabis formula
Advanced has been watered down for years. This is the truth. Rays been preaching the gospel for over 20 years but people like cute labels. #brainwashed

Haters gna hate!since i started using AN i am getting WAY better results
There are a few different levels of understanding in this hobby when it comes to plant food:

There are the beginners who need their hand held with nutrient recipes, that's where you're at.

The second level is when people gain that understanding about how 'salts are salts' and that the only thing that matters is the mineral content of the bottles. These folks could kill it with tubs of generic food purchased at a nursery. All these guys need to see is the guaranteed analysis.

The most advanced tier is for the folks who mix their own raw salts. This route may not necessarily be for performance but can save someone a ton of money in the long run.

Now that you mention mixing your own raw salts. I'm trying to save some money on Floralicious Plus. Which works wonders. I've been thinking of buying sea kelp, humic, fulvic acids in powder/meal form. Have you ever given that a go? And if so, is it worth it? Thanks HB.

I used AN for over 10 years then I was awakened by ray Cogo's formula. It is mind blowing how watered down and all the fancy labels. It was 10 years too long. Why would ANYONE in their right mind want to buy all that when they can use a 2 part? I guess more people sucked into their advertising scam. Watered down expensive as shit product vs a two part proven winning formula that's been around since the 70's. they love your thousands
