Bubbler with no bubbles!!! WTF!!!!

A few weeks ago i removed the 4 airstones from a homemade DWC bucket i had no intention of flowering the 8 plants that were in it, they were a test run, after being sat on the floor with the roots sitting in about 2 inches of water for 2 or 3 weeks (im talking away from light and warmth) they hadnt died, I was surprised, they got stuck in the bottom of my grow tent were I had just started flowering a few plants, then out of nowhere they start flowering themselves, doubling in size and buds appearing everywhere!! :o

Now this might not sound like anything amazing but look at the facts.....
The water was manky tap water what has been in there for about six weeks and slowly dissapearing as the plants soak it up!!!
No bubbles for the same amount of time (what happened to them supposedly dying thru lack of oxygen?).
and the nutes must be mostly used up.
So i thought I might see what they do so I put a few litres in the rez (not changing the old manky water by the way, thats still there too), added a bit of PK for good measure, still no airstones and they look pretty good really!!

Just thought I would share this and see what people thought, they should have died a long time ago surely?????

wtf is rite, im struggling 2 get thru veg stage and imm checking rez maybe 5 time a day! hey do u knw anywhere i can get magnesium nute, and clalcium nute?

botincare has a cal-mag that is decent. If no access to that then you can use epsom salt.

As for no air bubbles no I dont think they would die; but you def get alot slower growth off it. If you had done it with airstones Im sure the plants would have been bigger and bushier. But that is cool tho got me thinking maybe I can run a side by side test just for giggles.

the plant is a weed and can grow under some pretty bad conditions, just think how good it would have been if you had taken care of it.

Well im in the uk and i got calcium and magnesium from www.grotec.co.uk
Each in 1 litre bottles, £20 for both inc free delivery.

And yes i can imagine they would have been alot better with proper care, they seemed to shoot up quite quick for the first week or so then just sort of stopped and started getting defficient so i kind of abandoned them once i started my new ones with RO water
