bubbleponics has anyone ever trimmed thier roots?

i am having this problem where my two ww's root are so heavy that they are pulling my pots through my tote lid, its not that i cut the holes to big. the roots are just heavy as hell. any sugestions would be welcome. and how long should i leave my white widow plants in flowering(for some reson i am using a 1000 watt hps for two plants, a little excesive but whatever.

I have the same problem. Keep your res. topped off... that will reduce the weight of the roots. I also wrapped duck tape around the net pot so it wouldn't pop though.
Its actually a combination of the root weight and the weight of the plant. My girls are huge and the lid is really bending. I am thinking about cutting a piece of PVC pip and using it as a brace in the res.
I dont know anything about trimming roots... but it sounds like a really bad idea.
