Bubble cloning, how close do you want the top of the water?

Hey guys,

Im going to attempt my first bubble cloning effort later today, have a couple questions please.

How full do you want the res? IE.. how close to the bottom of my clones do I want the top of the water? I have a 10 inch air stone in a 10 gal cooler.

Do you recommend putting some cloning gel in the res? If so about how much?

Lastly, what kinda res water temp should I be looking for for clones?

Maybe Im not making the question clear or just dont know what the hell im doin.. probably both lol Im going to cut the clones and put them in these little pucks without anything on the cut ends.. no rockwool etc.. do I want the cut ends actually in the water or a few inches above it? Im all set up and ready to make some cuts once I know this haha..

I have my cutting tips just in the water no cloning gel just tap water in the bubbler cloner i use under 6-23 watts cfl water about 78 degrees no hotter.

lol and I keep them just out of the water. I like 80 in the rez. 75 out side. very little light.

Thanks that really tells me what I need I think. I'll just put them close and I need to get an aquarium heater I guess. Its only 70 in my res. Will hold off cutting till I get a heater tomm. Thank you again.

I'm working on a new one. My heater stopped working. be carefull not to have it out of the water when it's on. I'm going to set it up cut into a box with a 60w bulb for heat. I think getting your temps just right is the key. You can play with temps but the range of temp is 75-80 something.

Thanks Stumps. Im headed out to go get a heater and another 10inch airstone this morning. I dont think I have enuff bubbles lol.
