brown spots and yellowing of fan leaves

First time post - having issues with Liberty Haze 4 weeks into Veg stage - picture attached: brown spots forming on edge of leaves and moving inward. Spots start out as white or clear spots and then turn brown. I freaked out and have removed all of the infected leaves and started a water only cycle today.

1. Age - 4 weeks Veg
2. Light Cycle: 24x7
3. Soil - Fox Farm Ocean Forest
4. Watering Schedule - every 3-4 days depending on weight of pot
5 Nutrients - Using Ionic Grow mixed to 500 - 550 PPM

I never used it as it can be purchased up north:)..but i heard fox farms is hot to begin with. Im also not sure of your nutrient solution..i tried to search, but can't find how much nutrients it contains. Based on the pics..it seems to possibly be magnesium related. Can you show the whole plant? Also, no need to take those leaves off..let them be, the plant can still use them as feed in the meantime. unless it gets damp or truly useless looking, no need to pluck it off..plant will dispose of it.

Seems to be some problem with calcium among others.
I have a not exact but similar issue. I suspect it is because I use calmag and the part B of my nutrient solution is calcium nitrate.

I am experimenting with lowering the calmag, I cut it to 100ppm today. I also think I had the lights a bit high which reduced transpiration.( can have similar symptoms to calcium def)
I have been dropping them a bit every day, but when I adjusted them yesterday it felt just right and the growth has been awesome overnight and the way the tips point positively towards the light sources tells me I'm getting into the Goldilocks zone now.. And leaf colour is acceptable. I still feel mine could do with more magnesium, but not via calmag.

I added pictures of the plants as they looked this morning - Liberty Haze. I cut off most of the affected fan leaves thinking it was some type of fungus and didnt want it to spread to the rest of the Veg room. I have another strain in the Veg Room. Critical Kush grown from Barney's Seed and they are doing much better than the Liberty Haze and are on the same feeding schedule, although they are now showing some issues on the leaves. I am going to go back to pure water feeds and then slowly add nutes back into the schedule and see how that goes. I forgot to mention that I use RO water with a PH of 6.0 to start. I am starting to think the last bag of Fox Farm was hot as I had recently re-potted the Liberty in 3 gal containers with a new bag and thats when the problems started.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again for all the help!

It looks like a bit of magnesium deficiency, I also agree that the fox farms soil is hot, I was having issue with it and switched to Promix and haven't looked back.

i just finished a round of critical kush..beautiful plant, decided to try the auto version on this grow. It was able to take a ton of food..in the range of 1200 ppm's for a short while with no adverse affects. i had a mag deficiency for a bit and then a potassium deficiency in mid flower for about a week and a half, but end product is great and super sticky! The new pics, it's a bit tough to tell, i see some weird spotting, but it doesnt look like a calcium or manganese deficiency. It looks a bit as if it's overwatered, maybe it's wind burn. The leaves seem to be a bit puffy/wrinkly.

Looking at the chart from the grow bible, I think I have narrowed down my problem. I didnt realize that using RO water you need to add Calmag as teh RO removes it all. The Liberty Haze appear to be suffering from Calcium Deficiency which I believe is due to the RO water. The other explanation could be Excess Phosphorus which can cause calcium and potasium deficiency. This is possible too as I am using foxfarm soil and have been watering with 500+ PPM at each water. So, my plan is to repot the 2 libery haze into their final 5 gallon pots, Veg them for another two weeks with Calmag in the water and very low dose of nutes. Hopefully they recover and then move them to flower -happy buds :)

To understand properly. You are using ro and you are feeding 500ppms at each watering. Is that correct?
When you 1st started watering the plant in that pot. When the soil was fresh. Did you feed the plant the 1st 2nd or 3rd time or did you just give it water? If you fed it that soon what were the ppms of the feed? If you did not feed that soon when did you feed the 1st time?

When I repotted into 3 gal container, I only used water for the initial watering. I have been feeding them 500 PPM for all subsequent watering's. Using Ionic Grow 5 mls per liter - I attached the Ionic label.

Just my 2 c.
My 1st guess is that feeding the Ionic Grow is the problem. It most likely did not need as much as you fed it. 500ppms is a lot to feed ffof every watering.
You are correct to want to add a small amount of cal/mag if you are using RO. General Organics cal/mag+ would be a good choice.
Plant looks nice overall.
Good Luck!

thanks - I am starting to see the error of my ways = overfed - I just flushed them and re-potted to 5 gal containers so they have a new happy lease on life.
