Brown slimy growth on air disks and in res

Okay great good to know thank you! And that makes sense. The buckets I was using before had a large air pump hooked up to it. I had several mini fans blowing on this pump and it still ran hot.
This time it's a 25 gallon res underneath of the flood table and no light leaking at all. One very small air pump and one 4" air disk is in it. Going here shortly to pick up the pieces to hook up the pump and get it set up on a timer.
Gotta figure out a starting point of how many floods at what intervals under 24 he lighting.

Ya, you have to be mindful of what air pump you use for your bubbler stones. People sometimes get the biggest pump thinking it will do well for multiple buckets, when in reality it is just blowing hot air from the hot pump right through your bubbler stones and into your res steadily raising temps in your res. I find it better to run a few dual diaphram pumps that run cool VS running one large hot pump for multiple bubblers.

Pme other thing I've been pondering is I noticed the lowest grooves of this flood tray dont drain all the way. seems like it leaves several cups worth of water on the table after each flood, no matter how the table is tilted. Seems like I'll lose a hell of a lot to evaporation. I have coconut fiber mat, was thinking of covering the bottom, but seems like it still wouldn't absorb the water in he grooves.

I have some small pumps that I'll be using one each on 25 and 40 gallon reservoirs.
Just was running the huge cheap brand one thinking exactly what you just said lol while I was getting the roots to grow long enough to go into the flood table.
