Haha, no!
Still waiting on misc parts like V/A meter's, AC-connectors and such things, and also drivers are not ordered yet.
Will made a four custom heatsinks and 2 custom driver housings.
There will be two 225-250w lamps with 60-70w CRI90 flower boost and a few XP-E HE's and an additional 24w UVB tube in the center. About 575 x 620mm large, 28mm heat sink height and 80mm in the middle, where the drivers lie.
Almost looking like the nextlight mini's, but with an additional UVB tube embedded between the 2 heatsinks.
I will certainly post a few pictures when they are done.
And no, not in the UK but not very far away. Maybe ~500miles to London ...

BTW, the stripes and COB's arrived yesterday. Thursday shipped and monday arrived!
The guys of Arrow did a really good job, because they have informed in advance about the import regulations and then decided to split the consignment at their own expense, so that each consignment remained under $ 200.
That saved me another $50 in VAT, so I've saved even $100 now compared to digikey prices and their shipping practic!
Great score on the F strips. Good bulk price at 26 units. I have always been happy with Arrow. Thanks for sharing. I too would like to see the finish build.

I *really* want to see this beast assembled, and more importantly, the product of your first grow under this thing. Remind us of the size of your grow area?

Barely 10ft²! Only a small selfmade stealthbox which looks like a bit too thick wardrobe! 3ft² vegging area with ~100w and another 3ft² for clonings(20w strips) and 10ft² for flower(380w). Will upload some pics tomorrow
I like to make the lights bigger because it's easier to sell them after a while. Many lights I have assembled for friends and when these are finished, it will not be long before one of them see the new ones and tries to get them. Ohh please, Ramdom, think on me at first..., I really want them..., LOL!
Maybe a half year, then I need to start a new challenge! I've posted a few pictures of my older, COB-based lights
in the another thread. (Pics of your DIY's or so)
Maybe, when I have the time I will start an own thread about the assembling.

A little tit bit about my strips that people might find interesting. I flower under COBs but due to unforeseen circumstances I had 5 OG Kush plants that needed to start flowering but I had no room in the flower room. So I started flowering them for 3 weeks under only 220W of 4000k 80cri EB strips. I then moved them to the flower room and they are under 400W of 3000k 90cri Vero 29s.

I have grown this clone loads and when flowered under the COBS they grow with the usual OG structure of grenade shaped tops and lowers. This time the structure is completely different and they are growing with a spear like structure. They have been under the COBs for about 2 weeks so still have 3-4 weeks to go but I am super interested to see how they turn out.

Hi everyone! First off I want to thank graying-geek for starting this awesome thread and thanks to everyone else for their input. I’m a first time grower with not a lot of experience. My current setup includes the following

2x4x7 gorilla grow tent for flowering.
12-44” eb series at 3500k with two Meanwell 240h drivers

Grow cabinet 1.5x3x6

8- 11” ebs for veg
12-11” strips for week 1-4 flower
The upper potion I’m going to use for veg and clones and the bottoms for week 1-4 of flower. My idea is to have a harvest every month or so.

And what is with flower week 5-10...?
Most strains need 8-10 weeks, Top44 only 6-7 but I've never heard of a strain which is ready in only 4 weeks...

Right, so when the the girls in the cabinet hit 4 weeks flower I will move them to the tent to finish off their 4-6 weeks. Sorry if that was confusing, just trying to harvest once a month or so.

Also, if anyone can help I’m having an issue with my lighting setup for the 4x2 tent. I have six strips running in series wired to one driver an another six wired to the other driver. I ordered all my stuff from arrow and one of my strips was defective. They refunded my money almost immediately so no issue there.

I’m running the b version drivers and using a 50k linear potentiometer for dimming. Before I receievd my new strip I had 5 strips on one driver and six on the other. Before I installed the new strip I tested every thing and realized that only the 5 strips were dimming and the six on the other driver were not.

Last night I installed the replacement strip and now nothing is dimming at all. It almost seemed like it wants an odd number of strips. Not sure why that’s happening, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Which driver, CC or CV/CC and which strips? I need to know:
- DC vf and amperage of the CC driver
and
- vf of the strips at driver current, because 2ft. and 4ft. strips needs different voltage.

The vf of 6 strips in series should be lower as the drivers max. dc output voltage. And make sure the 50k poti has at least 50k not less.

The strips are
BXEB-L1120Z-35E4000-C-A3
Drivers are
HLG-240H-C1050B

I’m obviously a complete noob with this electricity stuff. Let me watch a few videos and I will get those numbers for you in a bit. Thanks for your help!

No need to look for.
Bridgelux 4ft. strips at 1050mA are ~45,5vf at 50° x6=273vf.
A HLG-240H-C1050B has a dc range between 119-238vf. So 35v above the limit!
5 strips is ~228vf, so below the drivers max. rating and dimming should work like it should.
On Meanwell drivers the information is on the housing and the strips should also have the voltage mentioned directly on the strip.

Thanks for your help! I really need to do a lot more reading on this stuff. So with these drivers I can only run 5 of the 44” strips on each correct?

Yepp!
If you overload the driver, but the protection circuit is not triggered, the driver regulates the current down to run at all. Correct dimming is then often not possible!
Allways stay within the driver limits and there is no problem. Therefor I mentioned to use 36v Meanwell drivers and go parallel.

5 strips on this driver should be 238w net. and 254w at the wall.
By the way, you can solder a small switch into the dimmer circuit and turn the dimming function on and off. Turned off the driver delivers slightly more current, may 108%. That would be 258w net. instead of 238w.... A nice 20w flower boost for free...

Nice girls, looking good!
Yepp, changes in the enviroment can have an inpact on phenotyp development. The lower intensity in the first few weeks seems to produce another phenotype. If this pheno yields better you have found a new method for these cuttings.

Figured I'd share my results. 5 girls under the 1 bridgelux fixture I built which was 6 strips running 300w total. 391g harvest so 1.3g a watt? Pretty decent but im sure I'll get more next grow as I had a fair few issues this grow. Will have 1200w total over 8 plants next grow with Rdwc. These strips rock!

Awesome! What size grow was this in?
