I picked up a 1000 watt Genesis double ended HPS. I got it for still so I couldn't turn it down. Now I just gotta figure out how to make it work in my room. 7 foot ceilings. I think it's doable though, I have extra space above my current lite with the plants fully mature presently. Right around two feet, so I think I'll be able to just barely make it work. Fingers crossed!

On another note that tester I cut is definitely good. Knocks me right out, good sleep medicine. But I'm super stoked about my Genesis 30 decibel ended HPS light. And I'm about to enter the world of hydro by the way of auto pots. Craigslist has been good to me this week.
Not sure if any of you guys know the answer this question but I'm hearing that my dimmable double ended HPS light which is a thousand watt light bulb can be dimmed without changing the bulb, unlike regular digital ballast I've been running, is this true? That would be awesome if it is.

No worries. Eewck, that is early signs then. Some I would say are worth pulling them through, but if you got straight up eunuch action required then it's probably best to weik it oot:)

Topping makes em do it more often. Just their response to stress. Even if that is a ball sack it could be the only one you ever see.

How far away from plant tops to they recommend keeping the DE fixtures?

30 inches @ 1000w.
What I asked about it the most is I can do the wattage on the bulb with it changing the bulb. Its a awesome light, but not being air-cooled and having to keep it 30 inches off of your plants is going to make things interesting for me. I think I could pull it off though. Going to have to wait till the summer is over before I try. Unless the furballs I've got running stay real short, scrog would be a good option for me to maintain 30 inches.

Thats not too bad. so pretty much at the top of the tent and keep them 2ft away. I imagine the footprint is good too. Lots of em out here for around 400$ a pop so been wondering about them.
I found a Genesis 30 for $140 used for a month at 12/12. With the nice Phillips bulb to boot.

Technically two and a half feet away not two feet.
From what I understand they will bleach the s*** out of your plants if you let him get too close

Beautiful picture. I am still trying to find the perfect method to capture the beauty.

I feel like I just stuck my head in your tent. It looks really good. The picture and the plant.
Yeah I really cant capture what the plant really looks like in a photograph myself.

I recently bought a nanolux de 1000, but haven't set it up yet. I have to make a new veg room and run a 220v line for the de.
With 8' ceilings and putting the fixture at the top will give me 7'+ and the plants I have pretty much staying under 4' (or around there) should work without having to dial it down.
I hope to have it going within 2 weeks.

Having great luck with the cuts from my BB plants, topped 8 plants eleven days ago and all the cuts have got roots (4 different strains). Had a lot of problems with heat recently, the room my tents are in hit over 30C often and all I could do was wish for air con lol.

Happy days as I will now be able to flower off some of my BB plants on my next run :bigjoint:

I think using a flash is essential when indoors, regardless of the lights around you. That pic was just taken with my phone. And I use my wifes Canon which is decent but start of the decent range if you know what I mean....and it takes grateful shots. Half decent camera, correct lighting or flash and you are half way there I reckon. And I've seen some great shots of your grow:)

Edit. If you have a camera try taking a close up of a bud shot at the edge of your tent when the lights are on. Again. Make sure you have your flash on. It will take away the orange light around the flowers.
