Boveda 69% pack? (Considering only due to availibility)

Hey so the only boveda packs i've found around are the 69% packs. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use the Boveda 69% packs for a week or two or so in the jar and then pull them out, maybe burp the jar and then seal it up until its time to toke?

I'll keep looking for 62% packs, chopped most my crop last night and it will be drying for a few days so I have a few days to figure it out.

Thoughts? My primary concern with my harvest is mold14 - 6 710.png 14 - 5 710.png 14 - 4 710.png 14 - 3 710.png

I use boveda packs for my travel humidor ( I love cigars)

The kewl thing about them, is they work both ways, they will release humidity when it is needed and absorb a bit of excess as well. I get about 2 months before they need replaced.

The thing about 69% is that is a bit to high for storage, as long term preservation is at or a bit below 60% to minimize the risk of bacteria growth.

I say they would work if you live in an ultra dry climate so as to slow the initial drying process down a bit ( I use a small room humidifier during the winter)

It is worth a shot, but, I would not put all my herb into that situation until it proved its ability to maintain the process without issues.

I live in a more humid climate, and since the packs are like $5 a piece where I can get them, and I need at least 7 of them they could get a bit pricey for something that could ruin my product XD. Based off your opinion so far I think I will not pick them up. Definitely open to more opinions, and i'll be shopping around for the 62% packs. The only place I checked was a smaller local tobacco shop, not a super tiny one but not super big. There are bigger shops that might carry what i'm looking for. I may or may not be able to order them online, It isnt my house even though I have permission to grow here, the owners would prefer nothing remotely sketchy is ordered to the house XD

Boveda - did no know you could get "packs" to give a specific RH% (reliative humidity) would be cheaper than a "Caliber III Hydrometer" (one you put into jars)

i have used the 62% and although it still smokes well, i find it to be a little too moist and some of the flavor seems to be gone now. i may be done with boveda packs but i will try them again. i plan to split 1 plant at harvest into 2 jars and when it is time, i will add a boveda pack to 1 jar and compare.

Boveda packs are cool, I always use them these days.
Don't forget you still have to burp
69 has a high chance of molding. Typically mold of any type won't survive under 60% humidity, 62 is fine
