Dude, real rad ...parts cost would add up pretty quickly though. Id need a different driver type and various relays, preferably solidstate. Ill tease the idea though and look at parts maybe after a few grows and solid schematic /c++ code

yeah, would get out of control cost-wise – it would only be worth doing if the electronic side is a real hobby for you – it would be hard to justify from a "grow-only" perspective. Still rad though

I am very much into electronics in the educational aspect. I may have some required projects arise soon. Might be a good excuse

the right is oddly shapen from being a tailored monstercrop,

lights on dimmest setting 6-2 GLR

UVa is on a mid-day schedule 3on-21off

still havent finished adding the reds.... waiting..waiting.....

Maybe 2 or 4 strips for side lighting will be a nice improvement, seems that medium and lower leaves are over shadowed by the dense canopy, anyway very nice plants you have :)
I have just bought similar strips for side lighting and clones and mothers...these strips are so much versatile with this kind of driver, I wish to know the lumens per watt in each one of their 4 posible amp levels...

Datasheet: it is the 23w lm415 on page ten but that is the unit's name, not the LED used. The LED is still a mystery.

edit: im fairly certain these are samsung LED. in the datasheet if you scroll down to the largest strip version you will see that it is made of samsung LEDs. above that is pages of COB type is only citizen LEDs. i doubt they used a different brand for the strip sizes then.

I saw these on alibaba and they are lm561c diodes. Another riu member designed these and they are available from ebay and Alibaba now. Guy was trying to sell them but without proper status advertising he was unsuccessful

I think I know the ones you're talking about but these are different. These are made in Italy by tci. I believe the RIU designed strips were a ripoff of these ones. Chips might be the same but the strips are definitely not a side project of a riu member.

I checked with TCI, it seems that they are using LM561b (quarter)chips...just bought the 3000k, would you think it will be ok for flowering? Specifically I will be supplementing my diy 2xcxb3590@1400mA light with these 5x23w TCI led strips for 3ftx3ft ..what do you think?

The LM561B just has lower lumen output not to worry. I like 3000k for flowering. I would go for 90cri if it is available more red and UV in that one.

@suncity13 , Yeah the SMDs on these strips are a bit less efficient, but you get about twice as many of them as on a quantum board. So you end up on decent efficiency anyway. Should be comparable to that of a CXB3590 at 1750mA.

215W is a bit on the low side for 3'x3', but that should work fine too. Probably about 600umol/s/m2 (before wall losses).

Anyone who has used these TCI strips, do you think they would be suitable for a small veg area? I have the 3000k diodes. I'm looking to cover about 1ftx2.5ft and don't want my plants to start stretching.

I have 3000K strips in my veg tent. I do see some stretch while vegging with the 3000K strips, but I think it's doable. Have some 4000K strips too, but haven't tried those out yet.

I use the flexible version and they dont stretch at all. I mix 5000k and 3000k in one fixture for all my lights
