Apparently I read too much :D, I read for entertainment rarely is a TV on other then for weather, Just a few favorites off the top of my head. Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and finished by Brandon Sanderson who has gone on to write some great fantasy novels in his own right. the Clan of the Cave bear by J Auel (excellent) Anything by Crichton, Patterson, Woods, Sandra Brown, Cussler, Apparently I just like reading for entertainment as I just want to add so many more authors.

I just checked it out, thanks. Read the article on SE Mn brookies; I fished there back in '82, was a fantastic trip and lots of fun, besides the fishing. Got chased by a bull, stumbled across a huge patch of escaped hemp, and more lol. Thanks Outdoorsman
We need to share a singlmalt and bob fish for bluegills. I've never been towards SE MN but yeah man high five.

This trip was near Mazeppa/Zumbro Falls, some stream that fed the Zumbro river. That was when I learned that MN allows public access to lakes and waterways even when on private land (hence getting chased by a bull). Bluegills were my almost daily staple; most of the year I'd fish to and from work. Great fun and good eats

There's not much too them but they eat good.
We would head/gut/scale them & fry em in breadcrumbs - the fins are like potato chips.

My dad would throw the bluegills I caught back. Instead I spent endless hours pithing and cleaning catfish. They were very good eating but I'm shocked bluegills are tasty. My father assured me otherwise and he was the non-crazy parent!

I'd store up the week's catch and then every Sat have a fish fry with the folks in my lab, beer battered with brats and copious amounts of beer.
How did that work? What I remember of Eastern fish is even one hour in the fridge and it was Old Fish. What do I not know about this?

My Bi Annual subscription to Minnesota Volunteer magazine. Everyone should check it out, even if you don't frequent MN. Almost sent @Singlemalt a subscribe letter but, I reckon we aren't that close.
Dad subscribed in the 70's. Life long membership. He can't read the small writing so he's been forwarding them to me for awhile. Solid read. They go back to the 30's or 40's. Every Issue is on the website.
Bi Monthly .. my bad..

I hesitate to ask about spices and related cooking ingredients.
Ritz cracker for the breading, other than that... Fill up a 5 gallon bucket full of keepers until the Walleye were awake. And People don't keep the slabs (Unless you're a tourist) you barely fit your hand around. They are likely 12 years old and are to carry on the lineage. DNR MN recommended taking the medium sized one's for your limit, leave the big old fuckers to pass down the genetics.
