Hey there RIU,
This will be my very first journal. Feel free to ccomment, ask questions or make suggestions. I have done several small grows but only flowered them out nothing perpetual, so this will be my first attempt of a SOG.
  1. I chose Bodhi's Space Monkey as me and my wife enjoy GG#4. I received a pack of Buddhas Hand as a freebie.
  2. I will be using a 4 lamp 4ft t5 to veg and either a 600 or 1000watt hps to flower. Custom drip system or ebb and flow not really sure yet. Using GH bloom and micro throuout the entire grow.
On Monday 5/2 I placed 6 seeds of each strain in a shot glass to germ. 6/6 space monkeys cracked and 4/6 BH cracked. Placed those into rockwool on Wednesday. All are reaching for the light.
Also on wednesday i placed 3 more SM into a shot glass and the 2 BH that didnt crack(gave them a nice scuff) along with 2 more BH. All 7 cracked and have been place in rockwool.

Finally, i plan to find a keeper out of both strains and use them as mothers supplying my sog. Until I can buy some new genetics. Thanks and enjoy.

If it is indeed the real GG#4, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you support her branches and some kind of training is recommended. I ran her a few times for me and my wife and my we both love it(her more than me). All are welcome to watch and comment. Roll a few and bring some snacks...its gonna be a long ride lol

Update on the grow...
All have broken ground and are doing well.
Today i put together my diy vegging table using an old 3 plastic drawer by Sterilite. By eliminating the middle drawer it allows me to use the top drawer as the tray and the larger bottom drawer as the reservoir. Added an overflow and used some silicone to seal gaps.
This system will allow me to veg 15 plants but once they are sexed i will be keeping only females. This will allow them to be spaced out later if needed. 20160508_160326.jpg 20160508_160356.jpg 20160508_160102.jpg

Day 11
The 9 Space Monkeys are all starting on their 1st set of true leaves.
The 6 Buddha's Hands are starting on them as well.
Going to start feeding them gh micro and bloom at very small doses, probably on Monday.
Because im hunting for a mother, i have been looking at the space monkeys growth closely. I have noticed that for the most part they are growing uniformly with the exception of one. 8 of them have skinny hybrid- ish type leaves but 1 of them has really fat indica type leaves. Gonna have to keep an eye on that one as I am an indica couch lock type of guy.
Other than that all looks good.

For anyone wondering, the germ rate was 100%. Had trouble with 2 Buddha's Hand seeds after soaking in a shot glass then paper towel. Gave them a good scuffing and ran my thumbnail along the crease, put them back in the paper towel and they cracked within a few hours.

Im excited for these. Especially since i found out he sent out testers of gg4xSSDD. Means the gg4 he used has to be bomb.
was reading the bodhi thread about 3-4mths ago, i remember there may have been a hermie issue with space monkey, i cant find that exact quote ATM, regardless hope yours kickon and behave themselves!

Day 24 from soak.....
After dealing with some grower inflicted issues, the Space Monkeys are moving along nicely in their dwc vegger. Yesterday i filled the res up to about 1 inch under the net pots, large airstone is kicking out hella bubbles. Still using the 4 bulb t5. Using lucas formula, ph 6.0 ish and 445 ppm.
Space monkeys ( #3 in the top right was on its last breath a few days ago, but with some tlc it is alive and showing new growth) 20160525_205826.jpg Buddhas Hand (1 BH did not make it) 20160525_194852.jpg

Day 26......
Preparing to move the space monkeys to their permanent homes. Topped the 2 larger ones yesterday. Trying to take clones from all of them before I flower. 20160528_104602.jpg

The Buddhas Hands are recovering from a burn but are doing so nicely. Showing strong sativa traits which i really dont care for but since it is Bodhi gear it should be good. They might stay in the dwc for a bit longer.20160528_104739.jpg

This particular space monkey is showing a weird duckfootish leaf growth. Looks slower but it was soaked 3 days after the others. Not sure what parent it comes from or if its just a mutation. Anyone have any info or input? I know the lineage so maybe i will dig up something.20160528_104637.jpg

Lastly, some root chamber pics20160528_104810.jpg 20160528_104842.jpg

Day 31 update
Moved the remaining 7 Space monkeys to their permanent homes. Some old power growers i had to dust off. Hooked up the 600w hps but when the flower chamber is constructed then i will move 500+watts of t5 over these. Bumped up the ppm to about 650. PH is about 5.5ish. Now i wait to clone then sex for mothers. These Space monkeys have a fuely citrusy stem rub to them and its wonderful. All have been topped to encourage bushing. I culled the mutant. It was throwing out 3 point leaves all the way to the 4th node. 20160602_235827.jpg
