you really should look into adding a beneficial to the res. pondzyme with barley is the best deal i have found. my roots have never looked so good.
Thanks Super! I use Aquashield for my roots. Do you think that is enough or should I get something like your pondzyme with barley? I was thinking about purchasing some "sweet" for food to help the roots, would you recommend that?

i use pondzyme and aquashield, the addition of pondzyme made a huge root difference. sweet is carbs for buiding buds, not roots. i use only botan pro line and my own recipe, let me know if you want to try it.

If he is using AS and or other Bene's the sweet is food for those too.. without it they die.

you are correct, but the majority goes to good use. testing without sweet in my recipe was surprisingly different in aroma, taste and appeal. but i am a huge believer in beneficials, it is immediate difference in plants root systems.

Exactly that is why I corrected you when you stated they were only good for building buds... I as well agree I would never flower without carbs but my findings were that 'sweet' leaves a harsher taste then Superlicious or Sugar Daddy. Those products products brought out the natural flavors that are described in the strain, where 'sweet' gave a synthetic kind of taste that I found in any strain I used it in.

thats weird, i tried sugar daddy and liked sweet better. which one did you use? i only use the sweet raw.
I used Sweet Citrus and Raw both, the Raw gave me the more apparent taste of something weird. I had some friends try them too, same strain one with sweet and one with Sugar Daddy and one with Superlicious. I grow buckets nows so they all had their own res and they all cured/dried same way. They looked identical also. My buddies all said they felt the Sweet had a more harsh taste of the three and the others they could pick out flavors more easily with the others as well. They did not know which one was sweet, sugar daddy etc.. neither until they were done with all three.

I have always backed Botanicare for years I still use a lot of their products, but this one just missed with me.

I am not dissing Sweet, just my experience. I know a lot of guys love it, and if you do then that is all that should matter.

Great post Buddah, I like how you do test with your friends to see what they can differentiate..and I bet they love being your testers haha.

I only use Nutes and AS right now but I'd like to add other beneficials to help. Any other recommendations?

Today I noticed some drooping along with a little brownness inside some of the roots. Usually after the 18 ON there is a little droop but it always perks back up during it's resting period but today it isn't doing as well. I've realized since I'm running Distilled Water I need to add in some Cal-Mag also, could the deficiency be causing the drooping?

I was able to get a little of the brown stuff off to smell it and it doesn't have a stinch, kinda just smells like damp dirt? You will notice the brown in the roots pictured on the left side.

go blunt! looking forward to seeing a monster. about the long exhaust run on the portable ac, that may or may not cause a problem with your portable. I know I had a exhaust run that was like 40 feet long so I put a booster in the middle of the run, dunno that it had anything to do with it but that goddamn portable didn't even last a year. I hope you have better luck with yours than I did .

I'm guessing the plant is getting it's strength back, its perked back up! Tomorrow I am picking up Hygrozyme and Cal-Mag so hoping once I put those in the mix, it'll only get better.

Thanks everybody for your input on my thread, you are all helping me in one way or another.

Do any of you do any trimming or cleaning up of the small leaves before flipping to flower?

i just trim the bottom branches when going into flower. at two weeks i will remove any other low branches that will not reach enough to produce and trim fans. then at week 5 i trim fans again to allow more penetration.
