blueberry question

does anyone who has grown dutch passion's blueberry have any info on how much they stretch after being put into flowering? thanks for any help.

I double topped and vegged my mother to 16", grown in B'Cuzz, 6" pots, Fox Farm nutes, 125W compact florescent, 10,000K for 12 hours/600W 3000K MH for 12 hours.

The four stems stretched to 38" under 12/12 - 600W, 3000K MH, Fox Farm nutes, 5 gallon bucket of B'Cuzz.

I put 4 clones into 12/12 aero at 8", single cola, same conditions as above except General Hydroponic nutes, and the oldest has stretched to 50"+ with a couple more inches to go on as the cola fills out.

dont go off of this dudes info he used fluorescents and that equals stretching, blueberry takes 7-9 weeks to mature and is almost pure indica, ive grown similar plants and i would say it should stretch at the absolute most 12 inches, good luck and good pick on the blueberry, p.s. its a hard one to grow

Blueberry is a hard strain to grow. I hope you enjoy the difficulty. It easily suffers from nute burn from my experience.

I don't see why everyone has difficulty growing Blueberry for. If you have Nute burn but you are supposed to start with diluted nutes and work your way up so you shouldn't be having a nute burn problem.

What other problems are there ? I know someone and they aren't having problems, just lucky or what ?

I just used the high output florecent during veg, the nodes stayed tight. It was during flower that I got the stretch and I was using a 3000K MH instead of a 2100K HPS to help reduce stretch. The mother in pro mix stretched like Dank suggested, the height of the cola is actually 34" not 38", so the stretch was only 18". Still 6" more than I thought it would be.

It's the aero ones that are ridiculous - 600%+ stretch. Great plants though, the nicest I've ever grown, like 4' Christmas trees. I just stock it up to great genetics, I might get 2 oz per clone.

I've got Peak Skunkberry in the same grow, it stretched from 16" to only 24". Very compact. 4 other plants from Peak's mix pack have stretched to almost the same height. An unknown strain from Dr Greenthumb stretched about the same as Dutch Passion Blueberry and Strawberry Cough in soilless.

The Dutch Passion Blueberry is an amazing plant, some of the nodes have 6 branches/fan leaves around the stem. Just amazing. And like la9 said, it really has been an easy plant to grow so far - no fertilizer burn, leaves all healthy, nodes fairly close together. Love it, great strain.

i think dutch passion has changed their bb. i grew it out a couple years ago and it was a short, squat, bushy plant. i just finished some recently and they were very stretchy. still very good smoke though!!!

Silky do you know if the new DP BB is DJ Short's version? I've read that in several forums but have never seen anything from the company. I think I will email them.

It sounds like you and I had similar stretch in flower, what percentage gain do you think you had from the start to end of flower? Did you give 36 hours of dark at the start of flower or just straight into 12/12?

if i remember correctly, i read somewhere that they did kipe dj's bb and crossed it. i didn't give them a dark period cause they were looking large in veg. they almost quadrupled in size. i almost dosed them with some bushmaster, but they finally stopped. as i said though, good smoke!
