Blue cheese harvest?

I currently have 24 Big Buddha's "Blue Cheese" going right now, almost in my 5th week of flowering. It hasn't been an easy grow. There is a lot of variation in the pheno's and they put off tons of lower branches. I've actually had to lollipop TWICE- I've never had to do this before and I've been growing since 1988. They are also slow to flower, and I'm expecting to go the full 10 weeks to finish up properly. Plants are healthy otherwise, but it's probably the last thing from Big Buddha I do (unless the strain quality turns out to be a 10/10 potency wise). Oh, by the way, pretty smelly too so be prepared for it.

Got mine from Dinafem. They've been quick to flower, on day 51 now, and yeah they stink.

I had the BBBC. I just smoked a j. I probably won't grow it again. I found a couple keepers but found a wide variation in phenos. Good weed if you find a keeper. One smelled like stinky socks when smoked. Terrible. The 2 good ones were both very nice blueberry smell and taste. I have a z and a half left.

Final report with totals.......OK, everything is done, well dried and well smoked by now. I ended up with around 51 oz, which is great considering I lollipopped them TWICE, cutting off a massive amount of branches and leaves to get her more managable and to remove the bottom 1/3 of the plant. I would rate the yield a 9/10. Regarding the potency, it's quite good- maybe 8-8.5/10 but there is some variety within the strain. Most of the plants do carry a fruity/berry/slightly skunky odor, which is bad during flowering (7.5/10). Where this strain really shines is it's flavor, which is outstanding. I averaged over 2 oz per plant, which is good considering I jam 24 plants into a single room under 2200 watts of light. It handles higher heat well, and is somewhat resistant to bugs too.

Bottom line, not the best out there but definitely worth a grow. I probably would not do it again as only 1 plant in my mind stood out as OUTSTANDING but a solid strain none the less. I took about a week off from smoking for health reasons and hit the bong ONCE last night, and I got royally toasted. It's has a nice sativa/indica mixed high but often I nap shortly after hitting the pipe.

On to Breeders Choice "Mad Kush" next, which I'm already almost 2 weeks into vegging....keep an eye out for a new review in 3 months.

Big Buddha claims 8-9 weeks flowering. I always seem to go an extra 7-10 days to get them well done, thus 10 weeks. The yield more than makes up for the extra time. 1-2 plants were well done around 8 weeks and were cut about 8.5 weeks but everything else went 10 weeks.

I've found some nice phenos in barneys farm blue cheese, there isn't as many phenos as big Buddha or if there is they don't show as much variation. I had a rubber pheno which stunk of fresh tyres/inner tubes. Surprisingly nice though lol

Pheno is short for phenotype.

"A phenotype (from Greekphainein, meaning "to show", and typos, meaning "type") is the composite of an organism's observable characteristics or traits."

So, regarding a marijuana plant- each particular plants takes traits from the mother and father after a seed is popped. Sometimes the plants are uniform, other times it can vary widely. Good breeding generally produce a few different pheno's i.e.

Plant 1 tall, broad leaves, thick stems, bushy, lemon smell

Plant 2 short, thin leaves, thin stems, slender, skunky smell

Plant 3 tall, thin leaves, thick stems, slender, mix of lemon skunk
