I recently harvested and I have about 4 pounds of trim

I used to make butter and oil for cooking. But I want to get into blasting BHO

But to my surprise all the equipment isnt cheap

I was thinking about buying this....

It's like $500. Is it a good buy. Does this include everything is need out of the box?

Any sure fire ways or tutorials I can find to point me in the right direction?

Thanks

That's not gonna be big enough to to run 5lbs of trim.

Best value vacs makes good stuff but get you a solid 1lb+ size closed column (preferably w a dewaxing sleeve), as well as a vacuum oven (such as Across International - although I'm sure best value vacs brands are good too) with a vacuum pump.

It's gonna cost you quite a bit more than $500. I mean you could run with that kit but you are gonna be doing a bunch of small runs as opposed to one run and getting it over. I got a 120g extractor and reeeaaally wish I would have gone with the 1lb unit. It's a pain in the ass to ha e to keep unpacking and repacking, doing multiple runs. Just buckle down, get the 1lb unit.

That's a silicone mold degassing chamber re branded and re purposed as a "purge chamber".your basically just drying your poison over the course of several days. Think ron popiel food dehydrator.
Out gassing with vacuum assist and vacuum distillation are 2 different things. butane is a mixture of several different types of chemicals all with different boiling points. Those POS oil sealed pumps start loosing performance the moment you turn it on and condense solvent in the oil. No matter how pure the butane label claims it to be, butane is, a dirty mixture of byproducts. Take to much of one thing away to " purify " it and it's not butane any more. Its propane or butenol or one of about 12 different things.
I have never seen but would like to, a residual solvents test showing zero residual solvents of any class. The best I've seen is 300ppm and even that is extremely rare. That 3 gallon bucket is not automatic poison removal appliance.
The people making and selling these things are just out to make money of the ignorant.
There is a hundred better ways to process your trim. Actually I saw a book the other day, "101 ways to make hash"
None of them involve blasting poison through one of the most amazing plants in nature.
Any one of them would make a product that has more thc than butane wax.
