I am interested to hear what you think works well for water farms as I have the water farms big brother the power grow.... I wanted a bigger res and more space for the root system... I would be happy to give a few of your choice strains a run... I need a few good ones for my good hydro strain list... some don't do so well I have come to learn..... I always use a bigger air pump and put an air stone in the res keep the solution oxygenated and aggitated.....
Coool. Yer the bigger res will out do a waterfarm if you get the right air pressure. I have seen Krusty buckets back in the day go crazy. the thing with the waterfarm for small setups it is pretty much perfect. I do run air stones too just so its proper bubbling up down in the lower res. I find all strains are hard to get going properly, once your past the first month and getting dialled in on the PPM's and PH I find its generally smooth sailing... My success is no nutes ofr first 2 weeks then ease them in.. All about solid root foundations, the rest will follow some quicker than others fo sure! Link me up if you get anything going!

Will update this journal tomoz anyhow. Loads to update on!

Ok, not the update I intended photo wise lol but here we go:

Auto/s:
Last shot of the auto before she goes on nutrients, sorry was a bit late in day I remembered to ge a pic... Thinking I might have o make some kind of fence out of bamboo or something tomorrow. that wall is my blockage point from a couple of neighbours lol I thought these autos were supposed to be small hahahaha:

IMG_0723.JPG

After some research and chatting with some more knowledgable people on outdoor growing. It was a battle between GroTek and Advanced Nutrients. I thought I would give the Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur range a go, so keen to see how that goes. Not the cheapest over here - so brought small bottles to primarily test on the magnum.

Also the neeeeew autos are here. I went for Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookies and gota . free Auto Somango to throw out too, So another 4 autos in germination. I picked up some special Auto soil too which should kick them off much smoother and be able to push some grow solution in them maybe.

IMG_0720.JPG IMG_0721.JPG IMG_0718.JPG IMG_0719.JPG

So yer some nice advancements there... Thought Id give them a proper go after the Magnum has been with little to know effort. As I say, 30g an auto I am happy - what are people actually yielding :S lol

Indoor - just been keeping steading incrementing the nutrients to around 1.35ec quite happily. Brought some new bits to connect the filter/airflow better, shiny stuf and scrog netting. They will be going on scrog this weekend and finally under HPS.. Just looking at a decent plug adaptor/extension with high watt tolerance for running everyone on safely. These girls need to stretch their legs! I imagine this will be a 1 week on 18 hour and flip straight to flower.. Sorry only 1 pic. Dog was whining at me to go out and im crawling in the attic lol

IMG_0728.JPG

Things should really pick up on everything in teh next week or two.. Stay tuned haha

Gonna focus on the next indoor at the ned of the month with equipment upgrades, Strains looking at are Girl Scout Cookies by Cali Connection and Aurora Indica by Nirvana Seeds

Cheers

Ok update - been mad at work and shifting setups about. I will start with the autos.

The magnum is a beast! She has been on Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur Bloom and Iv managed to push her to a full 4ml per l feeding at around 1.5ec and PH'd solid around 6.3. She has been taking it no worries and really starting to fill out the last week. My mate who reguarly grows Autos jaw was too the floor with this so I guess for a first attempt of outdoor I am doing ok haha Im not sure how much longer left but I am starting to see hairs orange on lower branches so I guess 3 weeks or less - I will start flushing next week. She has had a lot of nutrients way beyond me plan, just got carried away and using my meters and eyes to dial her in lol

IMG_0881.JPG IMG_0882.JPG

I had a 30g goal off of the auto flowering... I get the feeling I may make that goal which is amazing as it will carry me through the summer until the indoor is ready. The Auto Girl Scout Cookies are just picking up now too:

IMG_0883.JPG

As is the Auto Somango:

IMG_0885.JPG

Deffo getting the hang of outdoor growing quickly anyway :) I think next year I will be getting a couple of tools to help with the EC and PH side of things in soil better, see what I can push them too!

Now for the indoor... It is SO hot here now, 40c so I have had to seperate them. I am keeping one in veg (Blackjack) and the other is in day 4 of flower (CK), The CK has been tough under the 400HPS, but doable just (I hope). She has spent most of flower flushing as meters when a bit crazy after the flip. I have but her on a pretty strong 1.6ec feed of around 15ml bloom, 10ml micro and 7ml of liquid silicon. Wont be able to check the meters till light comes on at 9pm, but hopefully she takes and gets back on form. She looks ok though:
IMG_0872.JPG
One thing I will say about this strain. It is not the nicest to scrog. The stems grow so thick and bristle. Iv snapped 3 heads just getting her into shape so thats why its taken a little longer to fill a net. But as I say, day 4 of flower... There is 2 weeks of stretch to fill that - it will be full lol

As for the Blackjack in veg still. What a sexy biatch:

IMG_0871.JPG

She will be going straight into flower mid-end of august when CK is done. Expect this one to be a BEAST. I will also hae much better temperatures second half of flower and it will be on CMH :)

I lost both grows due to a tripped circuit breaker on my cooling we have an extra extreme heat wave so it's back to the drawing board for meIMG_1924.JPG

Holy shit man, that is bad news - unlucky :( How hot is it over there? I guess you have a few lights in there so its getting proper hot. Although we are 40c here, I am flowering at 9pm till 9am and its dropping to 26 and night with breeze and its only one 400hps in an attic which has windows both ends. So although its difficult, its not impossible. The BJ is in my bedroom cuboard atm lol Sounds like you were really against the odds for them to die like that. What is your battle plan moving forward now?

Confidencial Kush is back on track, she took the strong mix of nutes ok. Only a 0.1 rise and ph rise too 0.2, so going to just see how it does overnight after topping 1/3rd res with water to pull that ec down a touch and also the PH back to 5.5. Just had to get something in flower and stop spending money! Focus will be switching onto a new strain next month and the second cab finally so I can hit this hard for september and have perfect temps x2 next flower!

I am also putting 2 MORE autos out in a week or so. My thught being I will have autos to crop every month the next 3 months then and really get the most out of the summer/terrace lol Looking at West OG by Fast Buds. these GSC by them was no fuss!

Will update again on the weekend, should be progress on everything then :)

Update:

Things are looking good really despite really hot weather I have managed to battle it....

The Confidencial Kush is budding really quick. I will have to get photos in the morning as the lights on now. She has been a real struggle getting food in her but you wouldnt tell. I did expect her to stretch more but she just started budding lol

The Blackjack just had a major pruning session but is still sat in veg on the CFL. Its looking like the end of July I can get cab 2 in motion.

The autos are doing really well too.. The GSC and Somango are just perfect, again I will have to get pics tomorrow. The one I do have a pic of is Magnum - she has been taking a around 2ec no worries up until a couple of days ago when I noticed the water intake has dropped and some yellow tips. I also notice orange hairs so I figured its probably the 2 week flush period. Not really sure tbh its my first doing outdoor or autos. Anyway here she is:

Will post with the rest tomorrow.

Cool - good luck getting back up and running. Im weeks away from ordering my CMH too for the blackjack flip. Cant wait!

Speak of the devil, here is blackjack:
IMG_0981.JPG

And here is CK - I THINK she is just coming to the end of week 2 of flower or maybe in week 3 :S. Been so busy trying to sort so much out havnt really kept track, but its in my calendar when I flipped so I will reference back when I get a mo:

IMG_0979.JPG

Bloody awkward plant the CK. Doesnt like to bend, hardly stretched at all meaning my net wasnt as full, spent more time flushing then seeing her take nutrients... absolutely stinks already though so she could be a little gem and hopefully worth all the headache... This is why I research and pick my strains normally lols

Attention will be on cab 2 end of July for Blackjack. Then starting two new strains off. One will go in when CK comes out, the other when BJ comes out. May as well say the seeds I ordered and they are....... Cali Connection Girl Scout Cookes and Reserva Privada Sour Kush aka Headband... Thats all for now anyway! Will try to grab pics of the other 3 autos (GSC and Somango) and post up here in the next couple of days... They are doing REALLY well too!

Cool mate, let me know when you done I will check it out!

I cant wait to get cab 2 running now, was lazy and unmotivated before but now Im seeing everything pick up I am feeling keen to sort it. I just have to buy wood, cmh and a filter have everything else.

Probably will pick up a dehumidifiier next week. Im always fighting bud rot without one and need things to go smooth haha

woooow that looks smart. You went with LED over CMH in the end? Iv ordred one CMH FINALLY. I wont put the Kush under how now as she only has a 3 or 4 weeks to go and I won get the light probably for a couple of weeks. I will order a second CMH in September for GSC when I start her (prob in next couple of days)

Kush update - Iv been struggling. Il update with proper pics etc tomorrow properly - basically had another heatwave hitting 42c. Iv managed to keep her alive but its really been a struggle I wont lie.. As a result Iv had nutrient lockout and ph/ec all over the place for a good week. Its cooled down a bit and finally I am seeing her stabilise. She looked pretty hit hard with Potassium and Phosphorus type deficiency 3/4 days ago and nearly all leaves were yellowed out from the outside in and droopy. After extreme flushing and creeping nutrients in on really low EC like a seedling Iv got her under control and back to a 1.1 EC - so slowly getting there - she should be on around 1.8 now though. So this will hurt yields which is to be expected. Lets see what I can do with her still in extreme conditions haha

phos.jpg

Shit pic sorry - as I say I will update tomorrow. Its been a bit of a mare getting her sorted out and dealing with the heat. Currently I have her at

38c lights on at 38% humidity
27c lights off at 49% humidity

Im having a bit of a re adjustment on setups at the moment and just got a load of my old stuff from a mates finally.. She is getting a 150mm extractor tomorrow and my s & p will move as an intake fan. Iv added a clip fan parralel with the light which has got temps out of the 40s. I am hoping a bigger extractor and an intake will get this to low 30s if the weather stays out of unheard of heatwaves lol This is a pure Spanish strain and made to tolerate the heat. So As long as I can try and get her in the low 30s with low humidity - it will be fine. This is the worst time of year to be in flower indoors - the blackjack will be much much smoother.

Iv just got a new 0.9 x 0.9 secret garden tent for Blackjack so I can get her out my bedroom. Very impressed with this tent quality actually. Think Il buy a second and my wood cab will become a dry cab after this Kush. Its 0.7 x 0.7 and probably a bit too compact with such high temps and light power - so little extra space may help. Il keep her to myself till she is in a scrog in the new tent at the end of the week.

Magnum - still going strong, Iv taken her off the nutrients today and started a 2 weeks flush. I am on pretty strong nutrients and it need a good flush.Again Il update tomorrow.

auto.jpg

Auto GSC - these are HUNGRY little buggers. Had pretty big deficieny on one with a 1.4 ec feed. I boosted it to 1.6 and its happier now. Somango looking pretty big like the Magum - again promise I will get pics tomorrow now the Kush is calmed it.

also picked up a clone of super sour'd which is sour'diesel-x-og kush same genetics as headband
Sounds wicked man - yer heat has been brutal these last two weeks for growing indoor so I here your pain. Iv had to connect to 150mm fans to the tent to keep it below mid 30s lights on. She is doing ok now though start taking nurtients fine and really phattening up bud wise.
IMG_1266.JPG

Got a real earthy smell to eat but then a hit of strentghy sweet aroma - safe to say im exceited lol: Sorry for blurry pics had to be quick:

IMG_1258.JPG IMG_1260.JPG

Should give an idea how she is going anyway.. Which for 42c weather - not bad to be fair lol The blackjack will be a much more solid grow when that kicks off in a few weeks to flower.. OH I ORDERED THE CMH. So buy buy HPS too which should help with heat too as get out of the summer months.

Autos are doing fan tastic. The magnum Iv taken from outside and put in my old wood cab to sit in the dark a few days before I chop her:
