Black Light

Hey man, were just having a little fun. Hell this thread is over 3 years old and only has 20 posts. But it did start me wondering how much of that kind of light plants growing outdoors get from the sun. If it occurs naturally, and doesnt kill plants, it cant be all that bad. I dont think you could properly grow plants with blacklight alone. So maybe blacklight is like the chicken soup of lights. It may not do much good, but could it hurt?

Ok sports fans: If you think you cant grow plants with a black light... Look, I lead by example... this is one set up that I have and the pictures tell the story. This OP is a mere 9 days old...What are your thoughts?
Excellent! Finally someone steps it up. Well from the research ive read over the interweb it seems that introducing black light in 10 to 20 minute increments a day the last few weeks of your flowering period produces more trichomes. Im not an expert but what i read it seems like trichomes are produced to protect the plant (not sure if thats true please correct me if im wrong) and adding a UV light such as a black light it forms them to protect the plant more. I also came across an artical that mentioned upping the time to 30 minutes twice a day in your last few weeks of the flowering cycle. It doesnt seem like that will be increadably hard work to have a light come on twice a day for 30 minutes. I could do that shitting. Im going to try it. It couldnt hurt. Im also reading about trichomes on wikipedia right after i send this. FYI

I used a blacklight and regular under the cabinet floro tube on mine.. The ones you get from Walmart that you just plug in and my little trees grew about 2 inches a day. I kept the lights on 24/0 tik they got up to about 4 ft then went to 12/12 and got my first crop :)

i know that some of the led pannels or one of the ones i looked at has a uv bulb in there inbetween the led pucks so if there is 6 led pucks then there would b 3 uv lights and they were about a 1/2 in diameter and were shaped similar to a tear drop but i was told its to imitate that type of light in the am and pm when the sun is below the horizon but there are still uv being ommited as far as black lights go idk what kinda results you would c
