black bagging instead of topping?

apologies if i am cheeky by posting in advanced. i am about to start autos for the first time and i had a thought that i would like some pro opinions on:
as autos dont give decent time to recover from topping and training, and considering the way scrog works, i thought about a possibility to increase yield (im sure others thought/tried this). instead of removing light from the growing tips by tucking or removing them to encourage other bud sites to catch up, how about shading the tips with a little black/foil/paper etc bag. tin foil hats if you will indulge me. my amateur theory is that now the growing tips are starved of light, the rest will shoot wildly in competition for the top spot, but the original tip will still grow into a nice cola, as its the fan leaves that photosynthesise and not the buds or new shoots.

any thoughts, or has anyone tried this and had success or failure that i can learn from? am i missing some major biological point that renders my idea useless?

I think this is is good idea but honestly I doubt it will work. Auxins flow to the a highest points of plants, which direct energy and nutrient flow to the top(s). Regardless of light, it will still grow faster than the rest of the plant. I would just lst them. The only things I see coming out of this experiment is possible stretching, stress, or slow growth.

Don't know much about auto's but it seems like you don't have much time to recover from any stress, maybe if you are doing a final transplant right before flower, tilt the plant at an angle to get more light to the lower nodes? I do this with photo plants sometimes to make a more even canopy.

I haven't grown any autos before but would it be worth trying to scrog? Autos grow so much smaller that I doubt that it would take well trying to scrog. What do you all think? Has anyone done this with any success?

I would only do autos outdoor or as a SOG m. Make fem seeds from 1 of each plant then you have a whole new round-just do 2 liter Hempy's all the way

I FIM my autos on the 2nd lateral, and it gives me 3x to 4x more weed than if I did not, in most cases the plant is done/ harvested within 90 days, but to be honest I usably give it away as I use autos for breeder programs, but are getting better...better each year
