    Hey guys and gals.

Long overdue journal. But it's finally happening and I'm excited to fill everyone in on my progress.

This is only my third run in a new room I built a couple months ago. New as in 2x4's Plywood drywall all that stuff. It's outdoors and wasn't built to last and make growing as easy as possible. 15k later I'm relaxing and enjoying these beautiful plants grow.

One of the biggest factors in my eyes is lighting. Sure they all grow but I have experienced explosive and almost violent growth rates under my 3 Amare lights. I'm using the se-450's

    Power output:
    450 watts
    HID equivalent: ~800 watts
    LEDs:
6 x CREE CXB3070 Chip On Board (COB) LEDs

    60 x 5 watt supplemental CREE XP-G2/XP-E2 LEDs (10 per module)
    PAR:
    No lenses installed: 1207umol @ 24", 770umol @ 36", 546umol @ 48"

    Lenses installed: 2118umol @ 24", 1523umol @ 36", 974umol @ 48"

Granted I most likely won't be using the lenses this run I figured I'd fill everyone in on the amazing specs.

Strain is hubbabubbasmellascope from mephisto genetics. Also known to be the top dog in breeding and the hbbs is a top yielder in their arsenal.

Soil in pots but in trays just to help manage the run off. Promix hpcc

    Nutes are flora duo A&B
With some extras. Calmag, armor si, bioweed are a few I remember this moment.

Lighting will be 18-6 throughout their whole life. No veg no flower transition.

So im already at day 15 from seed but I'll do a quick catch up. Above photo was the girls are day 9 from seed and below photo is day 15 from seed
Currently under just the150+ watts of the monos on the Amare panels. Soon they will go under the cobs as well.

Replied and thanks. I'll be along for the ride. We can compare the Auto's when they finish if you want not for yields but to see the different Mephisto Genetics once they're done. I have another strain of theirs too that I have yet to pop. I am trying to run an auto or two perpetually while messing with the other photoperiod strains.

Also, where does the SE-450 lie in the lineup? Their website is not up to date so how do the Pro series lights compare to the SE-450?

Yeah the web was hacked and been awhile getting it back up to speed. The pro series is all top of the line equipment. Cree 3590 cobs, meanwell drivers, Cree xp-G3 monos. Just found out about the copper core heatsinks. Everything about these lights is quality. The aluminum cases and even appears to be stainless steel hardware.
The new pro series lights are long and narrow compared to the se-250 and 450. The pro9 is one powerful bitch. Comparable to a 1200w hps. I think my favorite part is the customer service. Getting regular emails from the owner victor isn't something you'd expect from a company of this size. He does pump out some serious lights and never forgets the small time growers like myself.

I did a lot of research on these hbbs and hear they get massive. If things get out of hand I have 2 of the pro 4's I could I can use to finish them off. Yes mobo comparing strains will be great. We should be able to help each other out in weeding out strains that don't perform as well. Even though I doubt this will be the case with mephisto.

    What is the Pro 9?

I'll snap you pic of my Sour Hound later tonight she's blowing up, this is the first time I have not topped my auto though and I started her in the final container too. Just been doing some leaf tucking here and there. She seems happy so far.

I'll look forward to it. The pro9 is probably one of the most bad ass lights available and I'm jealous of anyone who owns one. It's 900 watts of raw power. 4 Cree 3590's and 84 cree supplemental LEDs. I think it's close to 2000umoles at 24" coverage is 5x5 it's sick. Victor offered me one at a deal rate when I first went to him looking for lights and I declined thinking it wouldnt fit my space. Well now I have the space and don't have the light lol. Some day maybe.

Here's a pic of my Mephisto Sour Hound F2, I will have to search one of my threads to see the exact age on her, but she looks happy to me, I had a recent scare and thought I might lose my entire veg tent after being away too long with too much heat and not enough water.

    IMG_20160819_222748.jpg

I have become a fan of autos and will continue to run them. I think with people like Mephisto in the auto fem game now this changes things, that's why I grabbed a couple packs of beans to try. If this sour hound does well for my pain and yields good I will be doing a straight suto run with these beans like you're doing with yours. I'm still learning a lot on the autos though but a bit behind on the research because of trying to get my new setup going (again).

If you want me to edit and put a thumbnail let me know bro your thread.

No not at all. Post as much as you want and as many photos as you like too. It's great to have other auto lovers and what seems to be a grow enthusiast. Your plants look damn good man. Like perfect. The biggest thing I learned with the autos is really taking it easy on them is crucial. They don't like change which is typical with room changes and transplanting.

Also the nute and light transition really affects their overall size and yield. My first auto run I switched to hps and flower nutes the first sign of pre flowers and the plants suffered the entire grow. Nute deficiencies and overall yield was under 3 oz each. Once I figured that out they became monsters and yield was pretty solid. Last run I pulled over 4lbs from 11 plants under 3 450watt Amare lights. I waited till the preflower stretch was over and then

What do you switch with the light schedule? Mine is under 18/6 so far and has been since I popped the bean. Hasn't started to flower yet but she seems happy. And you are right the more you leave them alone the better they do. You flip the auto to 12/12 also to finish or you go 24/0?

Sorry to hear about this man. Hopefully things settle and you can get ahold of one sooner than you think. Funny you mentioned the cmh. I have 2 of them and did a little vegging under one last run. I'm actually vegging 4 more under one now in another room. I really think they are good lights but I have had issues with mine lately. Luckily they are new but I had 2 ballasts blow out on me.

So I'll probably get some heat for this but I really don't care what others think. I have mentioned it before but things like DIY and these sort of prefab DIY lights available are super simple to make. But they are just cobs. People question Amares supplemental lighting but I know my last grow is proof enough to believe in it. I didn't do a perfect comparison but I did run a few plants just under 3590's and the rest under Amare and the difference was definitely noticable. If anyone wants just cobs I say save some money, buy some cobs and aluminum angle to save 4-500 but what people can't create is these 250 and 450's or even the pro series lights. Amare has spent years researching these lights we use today. They are the innovators of the white light and supplemental lights that many companies are now trying to knock off. It's not just cobs like the rest and I know first hand they don't perform like plain cobs.

If you were to switch from mh to hps. I would wait till the preflower stretch is over. But cobs you dont really have that option. Last run I measured the majority of my plants and wrote down heights. No lie I saw 4.5 inches in a 24 hour time frame.

I believe yo & cmh is but a steppingstone to something like what you have I'm head first into my first waterfarm grow my scrog is 29x29" just a tad more around the edges than my 250-400 switchable Galaxy can rock my outer perimeter of my scrog is not as dense as I would like I think the amare se 250 & a 3x3 tent would rock my scrog & single waterfarm my scrog has legs that are mounted to my stand & I purposely made the stand wide enough to accommodate a second waterfarm side by side the only advantage would be a shorter veg time to fill the screen my goal is find a strain such as gg#4 or one of its crosses & get as close to a 1 lb harvest as I can I'm growing PINKPANTIES right now very high quality & not a big yielder this is my first grow with the waterfarm but I believe there is much more to be had image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

Whoa man that's looking great. I looked into those Galaxy lights ages ago. They work but do cost you more in the long run due to lower efficiency. Still rocking it herk, love to see what u could do under the Amares

I just got a reply from a good grower on another thread. He converted a Mars panel by swapping out the epistsr LEDs to Cree cobs. His yield under the Mars was 103 grams and after the conversion was 288. Same strain nutes and environment. the efficiency difference from epistsr to cobs was over 50% and the 3500k cobs do have a much better spectrum. I wasn't expecting those results but that's enough for him to make the switch on all his lights.
