Ok update time.. She is still being weird as fuck. Very attentive... Upped the food yesterday mo to 520PPM. By time I got home she was down to 380PPM then up to 430PPM late eve, thought fuck it and she was 410PPM in the morning.. however, New growth was a little yellow so I flushed straight away as could be a few things. Iron, nitrogen etc.. Within 3 hours she was a lovely colour again (so good call haha)... I was thinking I had to rush out and get epsom salts, or apply calmag etc.. PPM rose to 190 again so I flushed again tonight... Back on nutrients tomorrow at 550PPM I think cos I don't see any signs of over fertilising (I think).. She's hungry but very sensitive! Just gotta keep trying till she takes I think as she always wants to eat when it goes in! Any more yellowing calmag will be added to provide iron, calcium and mg!

day33_1.jpg day33_3.jpg

Still not set up the scrog screen properly - fucking crazy week, so will deffo get it done over the weekend and will need to start training properly in a few days - all being gravy. She keeps trying to grow upwards haha. Probably will be one more week veg than I thought.. Wanna get this thing done for xmas, god dammit lol

haha nice mate. Whats the flower time on that Headband? I think this Cheesus is 1 week longer then normal Cheese so potentially 11 weeks. Meaning fucked lol. think the pack said 9-11 weeks.

Anyway spotting some magnesium deficiency now on the biggest leaf. Added new solution today with Cal Mag up to 160ppm, then my normal ratio of bloom, grow and micro to take it to 520PPM again. Lets see how she does this time... Nervous day lol My PPM is low out the tap rather then 200 odd. So I was expecting this, hence having it on the shelf :D generally find osmosis type grows harder for sure, but much more in control especially later on.. So just getting other the teething problems.

9 weeks for headband I haven checked her this morning but soon I'll be able to kick the nutes up a notch

Ok my sketchy SCROG screen up, sorry for shit photos was sweating my tits off under that 400w light lol SCROG net isn't ideal, normally like much more holes but it will do. I don't really have the time to go rooting through shops in a foreign country in a language I don't speak lol

day34_1.jpg day34_2.jpg

So she seems to have reacted nicely to the 520ppm solution with the calmag. The spots on the big leaves clearing right up in like 7 or 8 hours. Seems to be looking a much richer green in colour. Checked the PPM about 3 hour after giving her the solution.. DROPPED to 340ppm and the PH had risen to 5.9 from 5.5... Im thinking damn the starving tactic worked.. Checked again a few hours ago and it had risen to 450ppm ph lowered to 5.7.. Checked again before lights out and floating around 415ppm and 5.7ph retained - She is such a wierdo. Anyway play by ear till tomorrow on that front.. Seeing a pattern here so thinking to push her up to 600ppm tomorrow night after a flush out if the ppm has risen any more. She is deffo taking and needing the food with decent growth.

Unlucky mate, is this the Pineapple Chunk in the water farm from your signature? Flushing really is your best friend with a water farm. Sometimes though complete res changes can cause major fuck ups early where the roots are not settled. I spend the first 2 weeks on water pretty much adjusting PH and changing the res once a week type thing. This applies to cuttings too when I did them (I think).. I rather go in gently then stitching myself up down the road.

Anyway PPM was 390 this morn with PH at 6... She hungry! Flushing this afternoon just to clear her through then a new res on 600-650PPM. Time to step her up I think. Risk it for a biscuit hahaha

I am sure you know the score, your setup is much better than mine! haha but yer, try to add your nutrients in gently mate. Go in around 200 ppm assuming your using reverse osmosis, if not just put 50-100ppm of solution in see how she takes (providing she has recovered fully and the water level is going down again)

Yer I am patient to a degree and I am expecting 10-12 weeks flower on this bad boy but I knew that when I started kind of hahah but I will prob cut the veg time down a week to try and get it out around xmas holidays/NYE.. I don't need to get gram per watt as Il be growing g13 labs Blue OG straight after.. Anything over 300g is acceptable for me haha.. Popping the blue OG next month when I build a lil box for the cfl and but a pc fans for an intake and out take.. Idea being I can transfer to this cab once she is dried on a 1 or 2 week veg to just fill the screen for flower

Nice mate, she will go boom when she starts taking. Just make sure those roots are nicely in the lower res before hammering the juice is my only tip.. Herk - I noticed you been doing a fair amount of research on lighting... Got any suggestions for completely getting away from HPS.. I think hen I get back to Spain I will be investing properly in lighting as I really want to step my grows up to the next level after these 2 under the HPS. Il be going back to 40 degree summers with wall mounted air conditioning - so CFL/LED seems the way to go to help here also. Whatcha think?

everything's pointing to the 315 lec/ cmh it is equall to 500w. of hps & has a more usable light spectrum which gives more frost & higher thc content the led's do this as well but in my case the led I wanted was $900.00 & the 315 lec was $389.00 I talked to the people at growerhouse & was prepared to order the led from them he suggested the 315 lec over the led & although he would sell me either one but didn't feel the setup cost for the led justified any benefit it had over the 315 they both will flower 3x3 area or 1m.x1 m.sq. I'm gonna order next week eventually I'll study led lights a bit better but for now my money is on the 315 lec

Nice. Thanks for that info. The 315 lec being the CMH right? get confused Iv seen CSD I think too looking for Phillips.. I was looking into CMH years ago and again last year but get intimidated on lack of understanding one the technology or readily available lighting kits. The one your mentioning for 389 would fit into my budget for 2 lights for 2 cabs and water farms. Got a link? :) No one in Uk or Spain has heard of cmh lighting iv spoken too from grow shops lol

I'll be negotiating the purchase tomorrow the 315 lec/ cmh is different from the others in the fact it uses low frequency (50-60 hz )square wave technology that fires the Phillips bulb making it all happen the other ones are different it's the 315 that's bringing home the bacon there is a 315 lec thread over in the indoor growing section my browsing has drifted tha direction as of late

i defo went too hard on nutes too early its only recovering now and growing nice and healthy, its got really tight internodes which is good so im guna flip it in a few days wen i get back and hopefully she will strech into my net nicely, ppl told me to change the res but i thought id dilute it down and see when it recovers its around 400ppm now that with filtered tap water of around 90ppm and she seems sweet for now i will gradually increase the niutes up to 1000ppm over the next few weeks and keep topping up with water i dont think i will change my res untill i flush.

im confident itll finish before xmas iv given it 10 weeks which sould be enuf for this as its a clear indica dom pheno, im aiming for 200g, 300 would be unrealy but im only using 210w of LEDs and around a gm/w for leds is defo achiveable.

anyway ill be checking in as its great to have someone using similar grow style at the same time to compare to, race you to xmas haha :eyesmoke:

Ok small update: The calmag went down a treat as said above. Iv stuck to my guns with flushing all day today and over night despite the deficiency (which has 95% cleared up for now) as the PPM increments I had during 2 flushes have made me hunger her out again (follow the pattern till shown otherwise hahaha)

day35.jpg

Upping PPM for sure to 650 tomorrow with calmag again I reckon - if I see defences come through strong again.

You lost me mate on low frequency hz square wave ballasts hahaha I will check the thread out as with what you said has reinforced my decision to go with CHM - just need to find out the best way to get 2 for May next year - so plenty of time to R&D and watch the market.

Nice mate, I change the res fairly often tbh but it really is different strokes for different folks. There is no set way to do things as long as following the needs of the plant the end result will be the same. You sound like you got the right idea. Il be checking in to see how she does :)

That Barneys Pineapple is damn quick - as said in your thread my mate pulled that down at 7 weeks and it was banging (soil with Hesi is it? nutes). Just for me 8 weeks would reach full maturity.

The race is on. I think the slight time ahead I have on veg will balance it out on the flower times - 'HorribleHerk' also got Headband on a water farm for a xmas harvest so 3 of us are head to head hhahahahha

Slowly reading more about LED and good yield rates. As herk said though there best part of 1000euro to get ones which would cut the mustard to replace HPS for me... But will be going CHM for sure soon and can look at LED further down the road - I avg 350g really on nearly everything Iv grown. I find the seed companies is bullshit half the time on yields lol Go off word of mouth and smokes Iv smoked tbh. Sativa being the biggest yields but I had g13 labs pineapple 380g dry which was ace!

you might go over to that thread as it clears up a lot of stuff that I can't I asked a lot of questions & I'm pretty comfortable with my decision as if I want to expand I could run the 315 & use my current setup as well for a round

pineapple chunk is the tallest strain I've ever grown taller than my first grow of skywalker I had to tie my light straight to the ceiling as there was no longer clearance for the adjusters
