Beware of Gorilla Seed Bank

No need to send anything. I have something else on the way. Thanks for responding though
Take a look at how long gorilla has been a member. Now look at how long myself and others responding to you have been members.

All these people telling you your wrong. Maybe wise up and realize that if your butting heads with ten people telling you you're wrong, well your wrong.

Don't act like you can't be wrong. We are human, humans are wrong sometimes.

I suspect you haven't been ordering seeds long. There are a lot of shady seed banks and gorilla is not one of them.

Any company willing to inform you they are out of stock and works out a solution is a good company. Hell they gave you a free seed. Yea wrong one but still free.

Maybe just back up a little and go OK its not that bad when I think about.

A good time to order seeds is around a holiday, especially Christmas. More mail and less chance of seizure.

Also buy well before the growing season, spring here and fall on the other side of the world.

When growing season hits there are literally thousands of people all over the world buying seeds on top of the indoor growers.

It happens all the time with companies not just seed banks.

You got the seed you agreed to after being informed they were out plus a freebie. And they will hook you up on your next order. I suggest you order again. Last time I had a snafu the seed bank hooked me up real nice on my next order.

Gorilla is an advertiser here. They are active in the seed section. I have personally watched numerous mishaps happen and they always make it right.

The question is not whether a mistake was made. All companies make mistakes. It'd all about if they make it right. In your case they did.

I also suspect that they offered a replacement when they told you what you ordered was out of stock. I also bet they gave you the option for a refund.

Chill dude. This isn't really a problem if you take time to research all the complaints from various seed banks and see how bad some will treat you or rip you off.

Have a good one. Take a breathe and contemplate this situation.

I think Gorilla should have contacted him before just sending a seed. I also do not feel like their costs of doing business is my concern. Fix the guys freebie seed or refund his entire order. If you aren't held responsible for wasting the guys time/money then of course this will just keep happening. And just because a bunch of people log on to give you support doesn't mean many others aren't reading this and deciding not to bother. Anyway I am not even looking at seeds at your store nor planning to so my response probably doesn't matter.

For all you nay sayers and gorilla employee POSERS, only 2 of the 6 popped! So I got neither of the seeds I wanted and only 2 worked!! So please tell me more about how great they are! Atleast Gavin and Sherry made an attempt to replace 1 seed, but at this point I really don't even want to bother with their JUNK!!!!!!!

Everyone's response matters.

The seed in question was a free seed for us being out of stock on his original purchase - it was not an earned seed, it wasn't anything we advertised, it wasn't anything we owed him. It was simply a courtesy, our way of saying we were sorry for the inconvenience. And, he did get a free seed, it just wasn't the same one he was offered due to stock issues. The alternate was of comparable value.

I offered to send him the exact same one he was owed. And, because we are obviously out of the singles, he may have ended up with more than just the one free seed. In fact, the packers usually toss in several extra freebies in addition to what I ask for whenever there's a problem. People here know me - depending on what I could have gotten approved, we may have replaced his whole order. It's hard to say since I've kind of been shut down.

I do not know if a refund was offered or not, but if he had requested one, we certainly would have given him his money back.

I have offered to resend the free seed he was originally offered, and in the PM system, he seemed pleased enough with that solution until he started complaining about germination issues.

We do not guarantee germination. And, it would be illegal for us to do so as a UK company. It is only legal for us to sell seeds as collectible souvenirs. To do anything else would mean we are "encouraging illegal activity in the UK" - that could put us out of business. If you have a look around, that's standard business practice for all UK seedbanks & most others as well.

I can appreciate your advice. However just because 10 other people disagree with me doesn't make them right. I also suspect many of them work for this company. The fact is I was NOT sent what I was told. Please explain to me how I was wrong to expect the Liberty haze that I was told you were sending me but got Lemon haze which I have no intrest in.... As long as people continue to tell me I am wrong for expecting what I ageed to, I will continue you to argue the point no matter how miniscule. I am NOT wrong

I never said you were wrong - I said I'd make sure you received the seed, and I still will.

All I said was that we don't guarantee germination.

Also, many people on this site are my friends, because my team spends a lot of time on the site. We try to be part of the community as much as possible.

The company would never pay this many people to hang out on a forum. They don't like paying me to do it so most of my time here is unpaid.

I have to say that I honestly wasn't looking for anything free. I was just kinda pissed and all the replies made it worse. But Gorilla made it right and a special thanks to Sherry who stayed professional the whole time!

They contacted him and asked if a replacement was OK. He accepted. If the op was truthful they would admit that when it was out of stock there is an option for refund or replacement. The op chose replacement.

The freebie has nothing to do with it. The gorilla just tossed the op a freebie cause they were out of stock.

Grass Snake, we're resellers.

We don't breed the seeds we sell.
And, on just about every page of our site we explain that germination is illegal in the UK, and that all seeds are sold as collectible items. That's standard for all European seedbanks & practically every breeder, and we get our seeds from the same supply chain that just about every other bank in the UK uses.

In fact, I think if we replaced seeds that didn't germinate, we'd be in violation of UK law ourselves.

Even if there wasn't a legal issue, it would be hard for us to guarantee germination - we have no control over what the breeders do before we get seeds, or what our customers do after they receive them.

Humboldt is a good brand. Were the seeds you ordered from us Humboldt's products or some other brand?

Contact the breeders about bad germ rates, not the seedbanks. They have no part in that.
