Well that's good to hear. I think I got the last of the older model. Mine doesn't have a window. I don't see how that would make a bit of difference though. I'm pretty sure they're manufactured the same. I washed it and it's all falling apart now. Oh well, I wasn't going to use it again anyway.
ah ok mine does have a window....seems they were ebaying all of their shitty tents away right before the good ones started coming out

Hey Oscar just wanted to let you know that mine probably wouldn't have made it that far either if they weren't started somewhere else. I moved all my plants in the tent (WITH WINDOWS!!!) at about 4 weeks veg. After that they wouldn't grow at all and slowly started dying. Even some Moms that I moved in there started the same thing after 1-2 weeks. I moved the moms in there because I was just trying to get SOMETHING to grow.

After moving everything out I went ahead and trashed about half of my girls as they looked like shit. The others I clipped all the burned leaves off but they never fully recovered as they had no fan leaves left at all and they just sat there. Maybe have a ounce between the 10 of them. The moms are bouncing back but were definitely stunted and still have tinges of yellow all over but ALL new growth has been bright green! Thank God!

Oh and to the people who say more air flow they are full of it. I had TWO fans, one 8" 590CFM and one 6" 480cfm?. The tent was sucked in looking from all the air flow!!!

Now I have an auto grow and just started filling up my Secret Jardin tent with girls a day ago. I will post back with results but they look good so far! I will never buy again from HTG Supply, but I will say their customer service is good.

Maybe it was a bad tent but my friend also bought a 4x4 footer and he started having the EXACT same thing. Oh and we both have 45 years experience between the two of us. I've learned in life you get what you pay for

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and new to this concern of "Gassing Off". I accidentally stumbled onto this post today while searching for information about another AgroMax product. I'm not a new grower, just new to growing with a tent. The reason for my posting is I found a picture on a post someone had made with a picture of a leaf that was having severe yellowing.
My current setup is;
AgroMax Original Grow Tent (with window)
600w MH(veg) & HPS(flower) w/ Digital Greenhouse ballast.
7 gallon pots in Roots Organic's Root's Original & 707 soils
Gen Organics Gobox line of nutes
424 CFM inline fan and Growbright 6" carbon filter
EZCool-6 a/c reflector
2 circulation fans and Temp/Hygrometer

I'm skeptical of this accusation, and here is why. I bought the Original grow tent on 12/2/12 and immediately picked up 4 clones and popped them into the tent under T% H/O's for a few weeks followed by a 600w MH until I started flowering on 1/15/13. with the switch I stopped giving them "Grow" and started to give them "Bloom". Shortly after I was struck with a N deficiency that I never seemed to be able to recover from. I tried almost of type of Nutrient deficiency and still had no results. Up to this point the plants were growing with no real issues other than things I caused. I asked other growers and still had no luck curing the 2 plants of this issue. They didn't die however, they did flower and I got 45g between the 2 of dank herb. The plants with this "gassing off" problem leaves all looked exactly like this at one point and some got worse. The reason for my skepticism is there were 3 plants growing and the the other plants only issue was Light bleaching due to it being withing 12" off the lamps glass. The temp never reached above 84, 86 1 time because I didn't turn the fans speed controller to high. Anyway this other plant produced 5 ounces, so If this is truely "gassing off" why did it only effect 2/3 of the plants all were giving the exact same thing untill the last week when the 2 "sick plants" were harvested first. What throws me is that I have found no other post with similar looking leafs that claim anything other than "gassing off" Any insights would be great, I'm still using the tent since I've had no plants DIE. I think that if My next harvbest is anywhere near the first I'll be able to eliminate this as a possible cause for the yellowing. I've read and read book after book with no real progress or information that would lead me to believe I'm on the right track of finding the cause. I can post pics but they look exactly like the leaf below. Any help? thanks...

I know this is an older thread, but reading it gave me trepidations about buying one of their tents, which look incredibly sturdy and priced quite aggressively. I contacted HTG Supply and this was the response, which convinced me it is safe to buy them (though maybe I'll regret that!):

Thank you for your interest in our grow tents. We understand your concern regarding this matter, but please be assured that none of the tents that we sell have any issue of this type. Any such claim is simply misguided or otherwise false. We sell hundreds of AgroMax tents per month, thousands per year, and an issue of this type would not be limited to just a few isolated cases as it relates to the actual construction materials, as opposed to the manufacturing process, so you should expect to see much more exposure there was a legitimate problem. We have investigated claims regarding outgassing in the past through thorough testing, and have found no evidence of any problem of this type. We also use a large number of these tents in house to conduct grow tests, and at our retail locations for display, and we have not experienced any issues.

If you look further into the history of this subject, you will find that there was indeed a legitimate outgassing issue with tents produced by other manufactures, which occurred around 2008. The material that caused outgassing was identified as white PVC sheeting, which was used as the interior liner of problem tents. AgroMax brand tents, as well as any other tent brand we have ever sold at HTG Supply, are constructed with Polyethylene terephthalate (PET - also referred to as Mylar) liners. PET/Mylar is a very different type of polymer, with a unique manufacturing process, and it does not possess the properties that made PVC a hazardous material for grow tent applications. PET is actually often used in the food packaging industry because of its inert properties. Potato chip bags, for example, are made of Mylar. Furthermore; virtually all of the other currently popular tent brands in the industry use the exact same liner material, produced at the same factory, and there are no claims regarding these brands.

Please take into consideration the source of any such claims online as well, in which credibility can often be questionable. About two years ago, one individual posted accusations of outgassing involving AgroMax tents on several blogs (it is identifiable that most posts were just copied and pasted). Whether this person was just misdiagnosing a different problem or this was a malicious attempt to damage AgroMax's or our reputation is unknown, but it seems more likely to be the latter based on the circumstances above as well as others. Subsequently, this has led to others misdiagnosing outgassing as the cause of issues in their gardens.

Sorry for the long-winded reply, but as a valued customer, I believe that you deserve to know the details of this topic that will provide you with peace of mind regarding your consideration of AgroMax tents. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-866-710-GROW(4769) with any further questions or concerns. We are available MON-FRI,9AM-5PM Eastern.

Respectfully,

I was just about to order the Agromax Window Tent "Mother Keeper" for my bonsai's mothers and figured i look up some reviews for their tents. But i'm going to order it anyways seeing as how more than likely the OP of this thread was just a troll :D

Too bad all the nightmarecreature pics have been deleted from the early pages of this thread. Could have possibly been a great thread for those of us trying to diagnose strange issues. Why do people do this?

That is exactly what my plants looked like. I actually bought the tent from a friend who thought his water was bad because his plants were doing this weird crap. Sold his $600 r/o system because he thought it was bunk, sold me the tent because he didn't need it anymore, and then I had these issues. I told him and he said ... crap, that's what was happening to my plants, too!

So, yea, not the environment, not the medium or nutes... it's the tent. 2 people having the same issue with the same tent, and the above picture showing the same problem happening to others with this brand of tent... can't deny it.
This is happening to me, but with a secret jardin dr120. ????? Unless it is a bootleg secret jardin, hmmmmm.

As plastics are my line of work the PET/PBT liner will not out gas but they didn't have info about the Jardin.

Does it smell like PVC in there? Does it stink more when it's warm/hot in there?

Definitely had the new tent smell. Seems to be slowly going away as time passes. No real noticeable difference when hot. Something is wrong for sure though.PB180176.jpgPB180170.jpg

Darn, now I am skeptical.
New to growing; cannabis @ least :) and decided a tent would be my best option for bloom.
I had intended to go to my local HTG today to purchase the 4x4x6.5 as they have always treated me well.
I have done my homework on tents and Agromax appeared to be of sound quality for the price. I am a quality
over quantity person and will pay the higher price if indeed it does mean a better quality. The Agromax
seemed to be a no brainer.

What I noticed on ebay is that the logo on the tents are different from the HTG "Agromax" on the exterior of
the tents on their site?
http://www.htgsupply.com/Files/Products/Medium Tent Gallery1.jpg

could these be different then? Is that leaf logo (ebay) indeed an HTG registered logo?
It is being sold by HTG:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-4-x-6-5-GROW-TENT-ROOM-48x48x78-Reflective-Mylar-Hydro-Box-Cabinet-Hut-Dark-/400597546983?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
ah, poo don't think that is linking.
I am unable to find anything like it on the HTG website. Curious.

Then they have the Agromax logo @ ebay also
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-4-GROW-TENT-w-WINDOW-USA-Hydro-Box-Room-Mylar-Hut-Dark-Hydroponics-Light-/400466955059?_trksid=p2054897.l4276
Their logo seems to be the lighbulb do hickey.

In the quoted letter above (#107) ^^ Joseph states that other companies that make popular tents use the same china factory, so... ?
"Furthermore; virtually all of the other currently popular tent brands in the industry use the exact same liner material, produced at the same factory, and there are no claims regarding these brands."

After reading all of this, I believe I will still go with this tent.
I will call the store prior to ask some serious questions.
If I buy it local, I won't have the hassle of return shipping if there is
a problem, bonus in my book.

At least now I won't have to go through all the trials an tribulations
that have been suffered by others posting here. I am sorry for your woes :(
I won't have to get to the point of believing that 'god hates me' lol.

Thank you everyone who has shared their experiences.
I will report back soon.

Have a great Thanksgiving all

I also got a mother keeper and my Blue Thai mom, which is in a 5 gal geopot filled with Coco, has been more than happy in there. Put an Envirogrow FLT44 in there (4 tube t5 4 ft long) for lighting.

I had a Secret Jardin DR300w II before and the quality of the Agromax in terms of structure in the very least far superior. I can do pull-ups in there - something I wouldn't dream of doing in the Secret Jardin. I don't notice any scents of any kind, but I did when I set it up a couple weeks ago. That said, I noticed the same thing with the Secret Jardin. Sort of like a new car scent or something, but it's totally gone now.

I think since the girls are closer to tent material, the mother keeper would indicate any problems quicker, and like I said the mother I have in there is experiencing no problems whatsoever. Took a huge 15" top from her two days ago and I can tell she is filling in with new growth already.

I JUST BOUGHT THE 55X55X79 AGRO MAX il have to wait n c if i have any plant isues once i set ip ut n get all my duct venting and carbon filter in place

I've gotten questions, so I'll set this straight. I have had no off gassing issues since receiving the new tent. This was in 2013. I also bought another Agromax tent. They are great quality for the price and super strong. The off gassing issues were from tents bought in 2010.
