Best way to get started..

I wasn't going to go the legal route but I got tired of being paranoid about growing on my balcony.

And a fellow I thought I knew said he was all set up and able to grow.. Sooo, I went ahead and got everything taken care of legal wise, fellow says he'll drop off an oz a month for me, and he gets to grow from my card.

Very first time, he drops off a half ounce, grabs his paperwork, says he'll be back in a few days, 3 weeks later he calls me on Friday and says he will be by this afternoon... nada.. ... I can take a hint.. in fact I feel rather stupid at this point.. I killed off my own grow the first day he dropped by ... which is good as it's immature harvest is at least keeping me going for a few days longer anyway..

Anyway... Any thoughts? What I mean is there something legitimate I haven't thought about.... I'm an older cat and in the middle of hip and bone replacement surgeries, so I don't get out much nor really have any social network to fall back on... I tried search engines but I don't think we have quite come that far yet..

I'm off Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy and don't want to stray more than 6-7 miles out of range as I totally got my arse lost just going to get my paperwork stamped and all the spaghetti hwys but if anyone has any ideas for this basic Portland area I am all ears.

Or if you just want to laugh at me for being a dummy in the first place.. well.. I can dig that too..

Don't really know who else to ask or how to really go about this.. sorry.

Are you able to set up your own room at home, even a small one? If so, I would grow myself. If not, I always recommend MAMA socials, but you have to be a good judge of character. I really hate to hear this happening to Oregon residents. If he is not giving you your agreed upon amount on time, sounds like time for a new grower for sure..... hope you find a good one. Let me know if you decide to grow yourself....you can set up pretty cheap for a small grow...one or two plants, and you seem like you would have enough medicine. I will help, if you need help on setting up and where to go, etc. Here's hoping that you get some good meds!

hazorazo, thanks for the thoughts.. and offer for grow advice.

I now live in apts .. I do have a small CFL grow box I had fine perpetual grows for a few years with until i moved back to Oregon.. , but as you know if I started today I would be looking at 4 months away.. more like 5 as I use CFL.. in an apt that does inspections every 6 months.. not to mention I have been married 30 years and I would like to squeeze out at least 31.. the woman is a saint.. she hates me using the corner of our bedroom to grow in.. she's dealt with it for quite awhile.. but it just isn't practical here unless I am going to have to push it... maybe if I knew the landlord better I'd feel better about the thought.

Woke up this morning to find a few PM's.. as a result I signed up for the one sight I was linked to and after taking all my registration it asks for 'money' to be a premium member etc etc..

I appreciate the thoughts but I'm not going to pay for a website, or a grower, or a club ... (although there are degrees of compensation I would be happy to help with down the road .. like 'wanna chip in so I can get another light in here' or something of the sort).

I simply am looking for a hobbyist or enthusiast that enjoys growing, is looking for a card holder so they can be legally compliant and is able to provide an oz a month (give or take.. I know it can fluctuate at times in between harvests etc). But PLEASE, if anyone has any other thoughts (other than 'your fucked buddy') make sure it has nothing to do with profiteers.. I'm sick, I aint doing so well, and sending me to a 'paid' subscription website is counter productive for both of us. If someone has serious advice or thoughts, never was there a man in more of an earnest need of them.

I did look a bit into the Mama socials.. the info is kind of elusive, I suppose I will call later today when they are open.. do you have to be their 'member' to go to these things? If I interpret it correctly you have to be a member and then pay 25 bucks on top of membership fees to go to their 'socials'... in other words.. is this too just about getting them some money while I get ran through hoops until I get so fed up and am so sick I am willing to just go pay dispensary prices anyway?




I realize I sound like a blubbering idiot.. just getting a bit freaked out on my end.. in a few days when I have exhausted the last of my remaining supplies, and it is coming quick, .... well, I'd just as soon put a bullet in my head before I get back on daily morphine again... yet I don't really know what else I can do except hope someone who reads this might have a better idea than just going the profiteer route and getting nickle'd and dime'd to death at some local dispensary where another guy sits in an unmarked car and takes down license numbers.. I want nothing to do with that nonsense.


Anyway, rant over.. hope I haven't wore out my welcome here.. I just didn't really know where else to go... very frustrating. I realize I am probably preaching to the choir, so I'll shut up now.

I realize no one here knows anything about the 'other guy' and we all need be careful who we talk with..

If anyone is reluctant to tell me something that may be helpful .. I am very easy to find out about.. ever since the internet was invented I have been leaving a trail a mile long... type 333maxwell into google and there I am... visit my music site (link at bottom of page) if you like.. look into the few posts I have made here since I became a member back when I was living in Montana.. you can even see my own humble perpetual grows in those posts.. nothing special.

Hey 333maxwell! No worries about the confusion......it is a crappy loophole you are stuck in right now, and we will find a way to get you your meds.

I like MAMA socials for a couple reasons......you do not have to pay to go to the socials, just be a card holder if it is a card holder only social. They often put together care packages for patients in need, so you can usually grab one of these free of charge. There are usually quite a few people looking to grow for you, and not all of them have the best intentions. So, even at the MAMA social, you need to be selective. They do not seem to have their fall schedule up, but you will not have to pay for anything to show up to the social, and try to meet people.

I think a patient in need has to look for a couple things when interviewing a grower......a good test is to see if that grower has a heart, and can help you out with some free meds (even just a little) until your meds are grown. Most growers will tell you it takes 5 months, which is true, but if they have been at this long, and are good at it, they will usually have a little extra to kick down. So if they give you some free meds, and they are good meds, then you already have someone that seems to have their heart in the right place, and not just about greed.

I do remember checking out your music, now that you mention it, and it was very good!

So, Maxwell, try not to stress too much about this....how many days of meds do you have currently, and when do we need to get you taken care of. I harvest in a couple weeks, and I can tell you that I will guarantee I can give you some free meds then, and maybe a little to hold you over, but I am running low on my own meds right now, too. Let me know......

I feel your pain. I have been in your place not once, but twice getting burned by growers just wanting my card. The guy that did this to you, was his name Jason by chance. Haz speaks the truth about MAMAs thats where I found my grower.

Just talked with an ol bandmate I haven't seen for years down in Lincoln City.. he knows the rope of this whole thing and people in my immediate area and is going to come up next week and try and help he get me all sorted out.. so hopefully I only have a week or so to be in a bit of stress about it all, and should have just enough to tide me over until then..

So at least it is 'something' for me to grab on a bit and feel hopeful about..

The world may not end after all *L*..

Ya gotta understand.. I just came off a two year stretch of morphine cold turkey and am able to at least cope with just cannabis.. when I feel I may have to go back on morphine in a medical cannabis state because everyone is out to just make a buck.. well.. it gets a bit scary.. I probably over reacted.. of course I wouldn't be surprised if this time next week I am back on ranting about this ol band mate who flaked out on me (fingers crossed).. I hate this shit..

I know I can always go 'buy' some.. but besides OSHU eating up my spare change, after one has been self sufficient and growing themselves for a years, the idea of going and giving 10 bucks for a silly gram to some kid in a dispensary being watched by the Feds is enough to make a guy wanna just give up.


So man, I can't say thanks enough for the concern and the offer later if I needed.. it meant a lot to read your words at this down time..

I don't understand why that paper is so important that they would decide to prey off sick people..

Quite frankly the paper is just that.. I could crank out a hundred on my printer today if I so wanted.. any moron could.. and it would be no less valid than preying on someone, getting their paperwork and then having them drop you as your grower.. I mean what is the difference.. they go to all that trouble to get a piece of paper that isn't going to do them any good if they really had issues anyway..

Very frustrating.. what a stupid stupid game.. as an old graphics art guy I can think of nothing easier than creating fake documents instead of going out and fucking with peoples lives to get documents that will be no good anyway..

As for this last growers name.. I wont go there (although it wasn't Jason).. his actions are something he will have to reckon with eventually.. I haven't the energy to even wish him ill will at this point.. I just wonder how many others he has decided to play with for sport.. I can think of a much better way to kill an afternoon.. *L*


Thanks for the thoughts.. I'll check out Mama if my own lead doesn't come through.. at least it is a possible lead if nothing else comes through for me..

Just went and checked out more of your music! Great stuff, man!

I hope the old band mate works out! It sounds like the best lead for you, like you said. If, for some reason, there is a long delay, let me know, and I will make sure to get you some meds.

There are a lot of folks on the take in Oregon, unfortunately. There are many others out there that do it right, and really give a lot to their patients, but they usually have a line going out the door of folks that want them to grow for them. I cannot wait until things are legal to run dispensaries, so at least I can make my attempt at making the world a better place, and giving to the folks that need it the most. We all have to make sure to support the businesses that give back to our community, and especially those that give to the low income patients.....when this all gets more legal! LOL

YES.. I just sent the man a PM letting him know I am ok for a few days now and how much I appreciated the offer. It meant quite a great deal to me to be honest.. a great deal indeed.

Getting off the daily narcotics and on to the cannabis saved my life.. literally.. for me it is very real..

And his generous offer, although now not needed at this time anyway... well.... made all the difference to me. Had I needed it, the gift could of been the difference between me keeping of the daily morphine, and going back on it.. and I'd just as soon 'off myself' than go back on the dope..

So thank you Buck.. 1 million times.. nay, 2 trillion times..... seriously~!
